Slipping into this outfit, I knew I had to embody that Cheerful and lively trait of Yaoyao from Genshin Impact today. Wearing this light golden wig took more time than imagined, especially the looped braids on both sides. To recreate that layered dimension, I spent a lot of time adjusting the styling so the wrapped curves looked natural. The two golden sphere hair accessories and yellow small flower clips were the finishing touches, conveying Yaoyao's playful childishness even more effectively. The shiny green vest is tailored very comfortably, and paired with the inner white puff sleeves, it really looks like the agile young girl from the game. The crisscross chest lacing design is the visual focal point of the upper body, retaining traditional oriental charm without feeling overly heavy.
For this shoot, I specially prepared this yellow plush rabbit prop. In the first photo, when holding it, my overall state was super relaxed—the prop was not only a visual accent but also a support for my hands. The second photo captured a candid moment waving hello; with a larger motion, the outfit's sleeve cuffs naturally slid down to reveal the red inner lining, a subtle detail that adds great layering on camera. The yellow cloth bag and woven bamboo basket in my hands, though simple accessories, are indispensable parts of the character's image as a Cute loli girl. I am still exploring how to match this character's lively personality through facial expressions. Yaoyao in Genshin Impact is a little girl who loves life dearly, so expression management shouldn't be too stiff, but rather carry a touch of naturally cute cluelessness.
Regarding makeup, to match the anime character texture of Genshin Impact, I intentionally chose orange contact lenses, combined with softer eyeliner and subtle blush to make facial features look rounder and more youthful. The base makeup was kept clean without excessive contouring, mainly to highlight that translucent, rosy-white glow. Chatting with friends about character settings in Genshin Impact, Yaoyao's curious gaze toward the world is actually quite hard to imitate completely. So during the shoot, I tried to keep myself relaxed, avoiding overly complex poses and focusing more on documenting moments during Casual cosplay.
For the backdrop, I selected the simplest pure white background wall. This distraction-free background really tests the model's expressiveness, as there are no extra scenery elements to scatter visual attention, focusing all eyes on the character and outfit details. The light wig and bright green outfit contrast beautifully against the white wall, looking crisp and clean. During photography, lighting was kept soft without harsh shadows, making color adjustments in post-processing much more natural and highlighting Yaoyao's sunny vibe.
This attempt gave me a deeper understanding of presenting this character outfit. Although many players have their own ways of loving this character, I feel that dressing up, shooting, and capturing these moments through the lens is deeply meaningful. Just like the stitch marks on this clothing and the binding methods of the accessories, every detail tells of the effort put into building this character. I hope my presentation allows everyone to feel the purity and cuteness inherent to the character.
