For this convention, I finally got around to preparing Yoimiya's costume! Getting this look together required extensive preparation in advance, pouring considerable thought into everything from wig styling to recreating fine wardrobe nuances. Yoimiya's hairstyle is quite distinctive: securing those two pointed, flipped tufts at the crown demanded generous amounts of styling wax and hairspray, which, paired with hair accessories and red cords, had me admiring the mirror for ages—feeling every bit of effort was worth it. In makeup, I strived to reflect her lively yet spirited, breezy demeanor, deliberately choosing reddish-brown tones with fine shimmer for the eye makeup.

On shooting day, we chose the hotel corridor as our set. The dark-toned walls, warm ceiling light strips, and geometric carpeting formed a striking visual contrast against the vibrant orange-red Japanese-style garb. I cycled through numerous poses holding the prop bow. To be completely honest, I brought a standard recurve bow for lightweight convenience, prompting my convention buddies to mercilessly tease it as a 'trashy 3-star bow.' I even joked myself that taking this bow into the Spiral Abyss probably wouldn't even clear Floor 1! Testing various bow-drawing postures left my arms so sore they could barely lift.

Regarding the costume, this orange-red outfit is richly layered: asymmetrical chest tailoring over a white inner wrap, a dark wide obi belt cinched with metallic crest badges, and that delightfully exaggerated thick red rope shimenawa knot at the back gave the coordinate substantial presence when worn. To give the leg contours a crisper profile, I paired it with over-the-knee Black stockings tied with fine red cords at the ankles. The crimson knee guard on the right leg and matching red-and-black footwear served as crowning touches; kneeling on one knee or extending the legs during poses effectively highlighted these intricate elements.

To capture satisfying frames, we worked back and forth along the corridor for several hours, covering everything from wide full-body compositions to intimate close-ups, spanning tense bow-drawing action poses to relaxed static portraits. The hotel lighting performed far better than anticipated; combined with our fill lighting gear, the resulting images achieved exceptional textural depth. While holding stances was physically grueling—kneeling on the floor holding the bow left my legs numb—seeing the photographer's camera display made all that exhaustion vanish.

The convention vibe was as heartwarming as ever, meeting so many fellow fans who love Genshin Impact and Yoimiya. Every cosplay endeavor is a fresh journey: from crafting props and testing makeup to final photo delivery, the process is intricate, but the immersion of truly becoming the character is second to none. As these retouched photos gradually emerge, each frame brings back fond memories of the day's laughter.
