The texture of this Raiden Makoto costume turned out unexpectedly amazing. To ensure no wrinkles appeared on camera, I painstakingly steamed it at a low temperature beforehand, paying particular attention to the white lace trim around the cuffs, which is very difficult to restore once crushed. This outfit is a modified kimono: the top preserves the crossover collar with voluminous wide sleeves roomy enough to hide a cooling fan inside. The tailored shorts underneath were a thoughtful touch, letting me perform broad, dynamic poses with complete ease, while the long purple printed overskirt served as the true soul of the look—demanding a breeze or being hand-tossed during movement to create that ethereal, flowing drape.

Wearing the obi sash was somewhat intricate: a wide blue obi paired with a slender red cord, accented with pearl chains and knotted floral tassels. I secured it with numerous hidden snaps and safety pins to make sure it wouldn't slip down during expansive motions. The prop paper umbrella had a moderate base weight, but with wisteria blooms cascading along its rim, the center of gravity shifted downward. Holding the umbrella meant finding the exact sweet spot of balance, requiring subtle wrist tension to keep the petals falling gracefully without looking strained on camera. To achieve a layered depth with the wisteria flowers, the photographer and I spent considerable time adjusting the hanging suspension lines to form a natural, cascading floral foreground frame.

For makeup, to accentuate the character's serene, aloof yet gentle nature, the eye makeup incorporated magenta-purple tones paired with matching reddish-purple contacts. A slightly more vibrant lipstick shade was chosen to draw the visual focus forward within a scene dominated by cool purple, blue, and white tones. To withstand an extended shoot, the foundation base was kept gossamer-thin and locked in with localized powder setting, ensuring sweat wouldn't cause patchiness. A hime-cut wig easily looks flat against the scalp; a day in advance, I shaped the bangs and side locks with a flat iron to give them a subtle curve, finishing with setting spray upon wearing to hold structural shape even in a warm studio. The silk floral headpiece carried noticeable weight, so I anchored it doubly with bobby pins and the wig cap net—only after testing its rock-solid stability did I dare execute that head-tilted skyward pose.

In posing, while standing with the open umbrella, I deliberately extended one foot forward, using the skirt slit to showcase leg lines while engaging the core to visually elongate my proportions. The kneeling posture put the most pressure on the knees, so I shifted my weight onto my heels, hands clasped or resting against the umbrella handle, dropping the shoulders and trailing my gaze along the light path to let the photographer capture that soft, luminous glow. For back-facing poses, the focus was showcasing the red bow at the back and flowing long locks, requiring a straight spine to support the oversized silhouette of the garment.

Because the venue floor had intense specular glare, we rolled out dedicated backdrop fabrics, touching up unavoidable reflections in post-processing. The overall color grading leaned toward cool tones; the photographer introduced purple fill lighting to harmonize seamlessly with the costume and floral elements. From initial makeup tests to the finished edits, seeing the synergy between the wisteria flowers and paper umbrella come to life has been deeply fulfilling.
