Preparing this look for Viviana cosplay took quite a long time; every step from trimming the wig to the support structure of the antlers was repeatedly adjusted. Especially for those massive antlers, to maintain stability without affecting the overall aesthetic of the headpiece, a lightweight internal bracket was used, though I still had to carefully control my neck muscles during the shoot. The straps and corset design on the outfit are highly accurate, but it slightly restricts breathing once put on, so I had to frequently loosen it up to rest between shots—which is a daily challenge for many cosplayers doing complex characters.

The studio scene chosen today fits the character's temperament perfectly. The warm-toned crystal chandelier and the background arch structure beautifully set off a quiet and sacred atmosphere. The photographer @豆豆家的蓝凛 has a very delicate grasp of light and shadow, and the side-backlighting highlighted both the silhouette of the antlers and the golden layers of the hair for our Little Deer Photography session. The prop longsword was heavier than expected; holding it up single-handedly to maintain the pose kept my wrist and shoulder muscles constantly tensed. Actually, while shooting the second close-up, I intentionally adjusted the contact angle between my hand and the hilt to make the knuckles look more natural, which also relieved some of the pressure from holding the sword.

Players familiar with the story of Arknights probably know that Viviana is a character with a strong sense of inner contradiction layered over a foundation of Knight spirit. Therefore, in terms of expression management, I deliberately avoided loud, expressive smiles and instead used a slightly detached and focused gaze to match the character. The contrasting colors of the black undergarment and the white cape, embellished with a red inner lining, create a strong visual contrast. During post-processing, we tried our best to preserve the texture and sheen of the fabric without excessive airbrushing. After all, authentic texture is what makes a cosplay work convincing.

Lastly, for some behind-the-scenes tidbits: because the antlers were so tall, I had to duck and lean sideways every time I entered or left the studio doors, and I bumped into the doorframe about three times—which was quite a whimsical experience. I wore the entire outfit, makeup, and props from 9 AM to 4 PM; despite the exhaustion, seeing the complete character recreation in the viewfinder made it all feel worth it. This set of photos doesn't have many flashy post-processing special effects; it mainly relies on studio lighting for direct restoration. I love this solid way of presentation, as it allows the audience to focus more on the details of the costume itself and the temperament of the character. If anyone is interested, we can chat later about the specific steps for making the antlers and styling the wig, or share some makeup techniques for knight-type characters. These are all cosplay topics highly worth diving deep into.
