[Sunna Cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: Classroom Chalkboard Bulletin in New Eridu

This shoot took place in an indoor studio featuring a realistic set with wooden stairs and classroom desks and chairs. Before rolling, the most critical task was drawing the chalkboard bulletin. To make the backdrop feel more immersive, Nangong Yu, Aria, and I decided to hand-draw the chalk art ourselves. The challenge with chalk drawing lies in controlling line thickness and color saturation; particularly on a black board, light-colored chalk requires layering two or three times to achieve clear visibility on camera. The final star shapes, cloud patterns, and specific text were all outlined step-by-step according to our theme style.

The first outfit leaned toward stage performance attire, mainly consisting of an asymmetrical cropped top, a skirt adorned with a mint-green bow and black cartoon elements, combined with tall boots and thigh-high socks. The overall look emphasized an energetic upper body and refined leg lines. The second outfit was a classic sailor school uniform style, choosing white shirts paired with different colored neckties and pleated skirts. This classic uniform cut places high demands on body proportions; by differentiating with black, white, and light blue skirt colors, standing the three of us together created a visually dynamic, layered contrast.

The wigs featured black-and-pink, bright pink, and light mint green hair colors. These vibrant shades reflect light easily under warm indoor lighting, so before shooting we used matte powder to slightly tone down the sheen on top and around the sides, ensuring front lighting wouldn't create overexposed color patches. As for makeup, unified planning was made based on outfit color palettes; colors at the outer corners of the eyes echoed hair accessories, making the overall makeup look clean yet distinctively expressive.

In terms of posing, thanks to the real classroom desks, we designed numerous interactive actions—such as sitting on desks or utilizing stair height differences to generate spatial depth in the frame. During shooting, a wide aperture was used to blur the background while preserving details of the chalk drawing on the board; this contrast between blur and sharpness allowed the main characters to stand out even more.

Serving as both photographer and one of the character cosplayers required balancing composition with facial expression management, posing a good test on gear handling and shutter timing. My biggest takeaway throughout was the chemistry among the three of us; without needing many words, we naturally aligned our body rhythms, forming the foundation for capturing great shots.

In post-processing, we adhered to a light, fresh color adjustment, prioritizing skin transparency and clarity. Without destroying original clothing colors, we appropriately enhanced light-and-shadow contrast to give the stairs and flooring a more textured feel. The final result basically achieved our expectations, with every detail thoughtfully addressed, making it a deeply fulfilling creative experience.
