The concept behind capturing the black-and-white twin versions of Remielle from Zenless Zone Zero involved extensive early preparation. White Remielle was portrayed by Muyue, while I took charge of Black Remielle. Although sharing identical facial features, pink short hair, and elf ears, the contrasting garment textures and palettes directly dictated the emotional tone of each frame. White Remielle's wardrobe relied on tiered sheer tulle and lace, accented with a blue bow and star-shaped pendant across the bodice, paired with pale pink translucent Stockings along the legs. In motion, the lightweight sheer layers draped naturally with bodily extension; to achieve that relaxed yet tension-filled aura in Photo 1, I adjusted the angle of my extended legs across the carpet multiple times to elongate structural lines, keeping a lowered gaze before the lens to honor the overarching mood.

In contrast, Black Remielle's styling placed its entire visual weight on textural juxtaposition. The upper bodice utilized generous swathes of semi-sheer black tulle, detailed with leather harnesses and silver zipper hardware on the sleeves, echoing the star motif on the chest in a significantly darker palette. The lower half paired black high heels featuring metal buckles with black garter Stockings. The pose in Photo 2—palms pressed together in prayer, lying reclined with closed eyes—channeled the character's quieter, subtly enigmatic facet. Under dim ambient lighting, the sheer black gauze was notoriously challenging to expose, demanding precise rim lighting from the gaffer to carve out garment tiers and bodily contours. Minor tweaks were also made to the wig, finishing Black Remielle with black-and-red bow hair ornaments to round out chromatic harmony.

The entire interior set adhered to a vintage Gothic style cosplay aesthetic: a deep purple velvet sofa in the background framed by antique gold carvings, with red roses and tangled vines dressing the corners. On the left, a small round table draped in lace held tea sets and stemware, which, bathed in the magenta key light, cast distinctive geometric shadows across the carpet. For the dual-subject compositions, Muyue and I experimented with different stances. The framing in Photo 3, with both of us seated side by side on the carpet, established an immediate visual dialogue between White Remielle's buoyancy and Black Remielle's grounded weight; the sheer tulle edges overlapping emphasized the conceptual friction at the heart of this Twin cosplay.

The shoot was physically taxing; sustaining prolonged kneeling and reclining poses tested core endurance and limb flexibility, as every straightened leg and flexed knee had to form clean geometric lines while harmonizing facial expressions with light angles. Post-processing was entrusted to Mingfan, who preserved the atmospheric magenta illumination while enhancing skin clarity and fabric contrast. Bringing Remielle's look to life through two contrasting interpretations was an immensely rewarding visual exploration; with suitable outdoor locations in the future, we look forward to unearthing fresh narrative dimensions.
