This shoot features the Ichibankuji look of Eleg from Goddess of Victory, emphasizing a dynamic athletic vibe and playful charm, completed in a high-contrast pure white studio setting.
Starting with the head styling, the cat-ear hood is the soul of the entire costume. Made of plush white fabric, it shapes into three-dimensional cat ears. Prominent black embroidered 'X' marks on top add a touch of tactical tech aesthetic. A petite anime-style embroidered patch on the left introduces playful nuance, while white plush pompoms dangling from the hood brim sway delightfully with head movements. Combining cat-ear motifs with headwear creates an eye-catching focal point alongside the short blonde wig.
The top features a unique cut. The cropped zippered long sleeves reveal the midriff, visually elongating lower body proportions. Bold yellow panels flank the neckline and front zipper, outlined with thick black piping to maintain high definition against the white backdrop. The flared sleeves are my favorite element; the cuffs feature dual horizontal black stripes and yellow binding. When lifting the hood, the dramatic volume of the sleeves brings relaxed effortless fluidity to the silhouette.
For the bottom, I wore a white pleated miniskirt with matching yellow-and-black piping, creating a cohesive set. Posing with one knee on the ground, the left leg wore yellow-and-white Striped over-the-knee socks while the other remained bare. This asymmetrical styling adds casual dynamism. The striped socks harmonize perfectly with the color palette. Props scattered on the floor—the black bar prop and white fabric with a spare sock—fill negative space without cluttering the clean aesthetic.
For makeup, I skipped heavy contouring in favor of a fresh, translucent base. Glossy rosy lips complemented the short blonde wig and wide eyes, reflecting the character's athletic vitality. The wig was trimmed with soft blunt bangs curled gently inward to frame the face without obscuring the eyes from different angles.
The shoot took place against a seamless pure white backdrop under softbox high-key lighting to accurately render the white and yellow tones while keeping skin luminous. High-key lighting magnifies tiny flaws, but this Ichibankuji costume's clean stitching, crisp zippers, and precise piping held up impeccably during close-ups.
Sporty style cosplay is always a favorite of mine because it avoids stiff, strained posing. A simple gesture like lifting the hood while kneeling naturally projects the character's persona. Eleg's Ichibankuji design blends athletic ease with moe charm through its white, yellow, and black palette. This lightweight outfit offered great freedom of movement, making the Anime cosplay session of Goddess of Victory truly enjoyable.
