Putting on this sports outfit of Eleg, I feel like my entire body has become lighter. As a character in Goddess of Victory: Nikke, her vitality and drive have always attracted me. For this shoot, we specially chose the locker room and equipment area of the gym. The yellow and white cropped top really brightens up my complexion. Although the cut is quite form-fitting, the material is highly comfortable, so my movements aren't restricted. The white thigh-high socks paired with sports shorts are the ideal standard for a Volleyball Girl. The wig is Eleg's iconic light gold color, with the ends slightly layered to complement her refreshing short hairstyle.
During the shoot, the volleyball became the perfect prop. Holding it or resting my foot on it helped me get into the character's zone faster. The lighting on-site was warm-toned, casting onto the white locker doors and perfectly echoing the bright colors of the outfit. The photographer's snapshot rhythm was very comfortable; there was no need to deliberately strike overly exaggerated poses, naturally recording these moments. During the shoot, a beam of sidelight happened to fall on my face, making the costume's texture look even better.
For athletic characters, the hardest part to master is the overall sense of relaxation in the posture. I slightly adjusted my sitting position to let the leg lines stretch out naturally. The makeup tried this time was also translucent and clean, without heavy eyeshadow, highlighting the original character's sharp and neat traits. Restoring a character is not just about the costume and wig, but also about experiencing her mood standing by the court. The gym lockers, resting benches, and this slightly vintage volleyball create a highly casual yet narrative-rich visual. Though this Anime-style photography set is simple, the atmosphere is maxed out, and I'm quite satisfied with it. The joy of cosplay probably lies right here—bringing the energy from the screen into reality.
