Putting on this Eleg Gymnastics uniform, my first impression was how light and refreshing it felt. A white crop top short-sleeved shirt paired with yellow athletic shorts, plus white over-the-knee White stockings—the outfit itself inherently carries strong athletic attributes. To capture the character's aura, a bright golden short wig with subtle curves was specifically selected for hair and makeup, striving to get close to Eleg's sharp yet casual demeanor. The four black paw prints on the chest of the white shirt are a highly iconic element; recreating this visual symbol provides a focal point within the minimalist color scheme, while perfectly balancing athletic casualness with the character's distinct uniqueness.
The location for this shoot was chosen in a school sports equipment storage room, whose atmosphere fit the Gymnastics uniform concept perfectly. Behind me were gray metal lockers, brown cardboard boxes neatly arranged on shelves, and red, blue, and orange training cones, instantly conveying the daily life vibe of a school sports club. The largest props on set were scattered blue-and-yellow volleyballs and black-and-white soccer balls, with clear brand logos visible on some volleyballs; the presence of these equipment pieces kept the frame from feeling hollow like a plain studio, adding narrative depth and interactivity instead.
For poses, we experimented with various natural, lifelike movements. In the first set, I sat on a yellow vaulting box, stepped on a blue bench, and rested my foot on a volleyball; this pose not only nicely showcased the White stockings material and leg lines, but the crop top and shorts also highlighted the graceful curves of the outfit, creating a composition that was both relaxed and airy. Nearby stainless steel ball carts and volleyballs formed wonderful foreground-background echoes. In the second image, standing leaned against the iron ball cart made the posture look more relaxed, while capturing the natural drape of the gymnastics uniform during movement. In the last photo, sitting on a blue padded bench, holding a ball with both hands, and looking down captured a quiet moment that formed a gentle contrast with earlier lively poses.
During actual filming, a theme with a daily athletic style tests lighting and scene coordination immensely. With many stored items present, utilizing ambient lighting effectively to keep background clutter from stealing the spotlight while highlighting the subject required the most effort during initial lighting setups. We used warmer lighting to balance the cold metallic feel and rough cardboard textures inherent to the space, yielding a warm and realistic overall color tone. In composition, special attention was paid to layering between the subject and background objects; iron racks, benches, and vaulting boxes provided great spatial dimensions. Through varied sitting, standing, and prop interactions, we strived to give the same outfit diverse visual expressions.
Frankly speaking, the character Eleg itself has strong recognizability among the player community. Creating this Gymnastics uniform version of cosplay was aimed at showing the vibrant athletic energy of the character. Regarding costume selection, fabric choice and tailoring were crucial to final presentation: the elasticity of the short-sleeved top and finished hem of the shorts fit the athletic theme closely, balancing character accuracy with fabric comfort. The over-the-knee white stockings were the highlight of the look; this element aligns with athletic outfit logic while bearing distinct 2D aesthetic features, though wearing them actually places high demands on leg shapes and lines.

I feel cosplay photography often goes beyond capturing a pretty face; it's about restoring the scene and the first impression the character leaves on people. This Gymnastics uniform look itself carries great tension—it doesn't need overly complex poses; simply sitting amidst equipment or stepping on a volleyball brings out the ambient feel effortlessly.
