[Cartethyia Cosplay] Wuthering Waves: Convention Photos Log of a Cool-Toned Horned Elf

Checking in with selfies from today's convention session to share the styling details for Cartethyia from Wuthering Waves. Having trimmed and re-styled the wig and horns the night before, slipping into them today went quite smoothly. The white branch-like antlers tipped in blue, combined with pointed Elf ears, create a crisp, cold aesthetic overall.

The costume design is fairly intricate, anchored in a color-blocked palette of black, white, and blue. With the choker, metal buckles at the neck, interspersed leather straps, and white spliced fabric panels across the bodice, suiting up took significant time to ensure every strap aligned properly so lines remained sharp in camera. To harmonize with the look, I wore vivid bright blue contact lenses paired with bold eyeliner and dense false lashes, making my eyes sparkle under convention lighting. A rosy-red lip was chosen to contrast with the pale, cool-toned base makeup, keeping the entire visage crisp and clean.

Roaming the halls with a good friend who helped carry the staff prop—crafted from white branches cradling a blue orb—made the day much easier. The prop is noticeably weighty; because of its extended branch structure, handling it required careful posturing during shoots. We captured several frames beside a wood-grain accent wall and a reddish-brown leather sofa; the warm background tones formed an unexpected, beautiful contrast against the character's cool palette. The first image is a selfie taken while waiting for my friend, which clearly showcases the headpiece and makeup nuances. The second captures my friend holding the prop stepping into the frame with me, freezing an authentic, joyful behind-the-scenes convention moment.

Wearing complex cosplay gear on the convention floor definitely demands care: securing the headpiece is crucial, as the extended horns wobble easily while walking, making hairspray and invisible hairnets essential reinforcements. Clothes with sweeping trains or dense strapping also require constant vigilance in dense crowds to avoid being stepped on. Today's Cartethyia held up sturdily; outside of carrying some weight, the visual fidelity was immensely gratifying. While the full day was tiring, seeing how the shots turned out made it completely worthwhile.
