This time I'm doing a cosplay of Iochi Mari from Blue Archive, also known as Mari-chan. The color scheme and cut of the gym uniform are truly refreshing. Paired with the orange long ponytail and fox ears, the effect shot under outdoor natural light looks exceptionally translucent.
The yellow halo in the photo was added in post-production. Because the top lighting at the venue was quite harsh, the photographer specially found a time slot when clouds created diffuse reflection outdoors, making the facial light and shadow transition much softer and avoiding a half-lit, half-shadowed face. The crouching pose in the second photo and the sitting pose in the third photo were actually improvised by myself. Thinking about Mari's usual energetic yet slightly clumsy personality, I deliberately struck some relaxed poses.
The wig was smoothed out for quite a long time beforehand to avoid frizziness. The white over-knee socks and canvas shoes are also key points of the whole coordination, matching perfectly with the sports shorts. This outfit has quite a few details; the badge on the collar and the straps at the waist all recreate the original design.
Since these are Convention photos, it's inevitable to have passersby in the background, but the photographer controlled the focal length excellently, blurring the crowd into part of the atmospheric vibe. The wind was very strong during the shoot, and my bangs flew all over the place several times. Fortunately, we captured these few relatively intact ones. As a record of Convention photos through this piece of Outdoor photography, I feel it has successfully transmitted that sunny and energetic vibe of Mari.
