Today at the Zhanjiang Comic Convention, I cosplayed Yangyang Xuanling from Wuthering Waves, and I'm genuinely delighted with the resulting Convention photos. What captivates me most about this design is the lore of yearning to be a bird drifting upon the breeze; so throughout the shoot, I continuously searched for that state of weightless grace underscored by razor-sharp resolve.

Preparing the hair, makeup, and wardrobe was quite intricate. The blue gradient tresses were styled in layered cuts, while the off-white feather pieces along the temples needed delicate brushing to retain airy volume. To capture her lucid, sharp gaze, I deliberately chose high-saturation bright blue contact lenses paired with blended reddish eyeshadow gradients, making the catchlights in my eyes markedly more vivid before the camera. The golden bird hairpins and avian accessories required firm securing with bobby pins, and the red tassels had to be positioned carefully away from obscuring my face.

The attire consists of multiple layers—a pristine white outer robe draped over dark navy and black undergarments. For the vibrant blue feather prop chest embellishments, I used setting adhesive so they would stand upright. The waist belt's metallic buckles and black strappings required careful tightening when dressing, hugging bodily curves while allowing comfortable mobility around the convention hall. While the blue-feathered greatsword appears ethereal, the exterior coating and internal armature give it substantial heft. Gripping it horizontally with one hand demanded solid wrist control to prevent trembling.

The convention shots were captured in a quiet corner of the hall. Against a darkened background, circular downlighting isolated the crisp contrast between the blues and whites. The photographer suggested experimenting with varied stances; among them, sitting on the floor with one leg extended cleanly accentuated the waistline while showcasing the black boots and trouser hems in full detail. This posture required careful center-of-gravity balance—toes pointed tautly, one arm casually draped over the knee, while the other rested the sword tip against the floor. To catch the hair flowing in motion, an assistant fanned air from the side; letting tresses lift while keeping facial composure completely steady required considerable core control. The standing frames with an outstretched hand demanded immense arm stability—thrusting the prop forward exaggerated perspective distortion, dialing visual tension to the maximum.

During post-processing, I primarily preserved the cool color tones. Event hall photography tends to drift warm and yellow, so white balance was nudged toward cool blue tones, with highlights compressed to prevent specular glare on the sword blade from blowing out. No heavy digital effects were needed; the natural texture of the raw captures was more than enough. This series documents my authentic presence on the convention floor: despite the exhaustion, the moment I drew the prop, I truly felt aligned with that free-spirited, soaring grace.
