[Klee Cosplay] Genshin Impact Character Outdoor Convention Photos from Guangzhou Chuwuyu Anime Convention

At the Guangzhou Chuwuyu Anime Convention on August 20, 2023, I completed this set of convention photos in the outdoor lakeside area wearing this classic red-and-white outfit.

For this Genshin Impact Klee Cosplay, I focused on recreating her iconic red newsboy cap; the golden four-leaf clover badge in the center and the white feather on the side serve as finishing touches that had to be aligned perfectly. Light blonde wig paired with long pointed elf ears helped capture the character's lively spirit. The red lapel coat on top is the soul of this outfit, with dark brown shoulder panels and gold cuff lines adding depth, paired with a white scarf featuring plush ball trim at the neck for a sharp overall silhouette. The white skirt on the bottom features wavy hollow lace trim around the edges, paired with earth-toned color-blocked boots—fitting her lively, active personality while making it easy to stride around outdoors.

Finding a clean backdrop in a crowded and bustling environment like an anime convention actually takes a bit of luck. We chose a spot by the lake railing where the photographer used a wide aperture to beautifully blur the green forest and water surface behind us. The lighting was natural diffuse reflection light, giving the photos a very soft texture. For poses, we tried various postures: raising the fish plush above my head with both hands to convey excitement, or gently leaning against the railing hugging the plush to show a cute side. There were also a few shots where I held the cap brim with one hand or placed a finger in front of my lips in a "shh" gesture, hoping to recreate her mischievous character traits. Special mention goes to the round white-and-blue fish plush prop; carrying it around the convention was quite eye-catching, and using it as an interactive prop felt much more natural than simple posing.

Of course, we encountered some minor hiccups during the shoot. For instance, due to high outdoor temperatures, the wig would get slightly damp with sweat and tangle after half a day, requiring constant combing to maintain fluffiness. Additionally, the cap on my head was prone to slipping sideways if my movements were too large, so we had to readjust the angle several times to ensure it was properly aligned the moment the shutter clicked. During the shoot, I paid extra attention to my posture and footwork, letting the skirt and boot lines spread naturally while incorporating lively little gestures like standing on one leg to give the final shots a dynamic feel.

Overall, the atmosphere at this Chuwuyu Anime Convention was wonderful with crystal-clear outdoor light. Everything—from costume and props to the photographer's angles—aligned perfectly. Wearing this cosplay outfit in that setting made it easy to get into character, making the experience joyful and satisfying. Although running around and posing outdoors was tiring, seeing the final photos filled with energy made everything feel completely worthwhile. I hope to have more opportunities in the future to bring this gear and record more interesting moments across different convention settings.
