[Remielle Cosplay] Light and Shadow in Zenless Zone Zero

In the world of Zenless Zone Zero, Remielle's setting is naturally filled with complex, dual appeal, which made me decide to present her different facets using two completely contrasting looks while preparing for this cosplay. The white version focuses on an ethereal, sacred atmosphere, whereas the black version leans toward gothic mystery—this very contrast is the core concept I wished to convey in this shoot.

Let's talk about the white outfit first. During the outfit preparation stage, I prioritized the fabric's flow and layering. The white halter corset top fits the body contour very closely; to avoid looking plain, I added blue fabric splicing at the neckline along with the signature black cross pendant, while light purple tassels hanging from both sides add a sense of dynamic flow. The sleeves feature wide tulle bell sleeve designs with fine red piping on the arms, paired with a semi-transparent white lace skirt and lightweight feather wings on the back, creating an ethereal, celestial vibe under soft light. To fit the overall translucent atmosphere, I opted for pink eyeshadow and lip tones, paired with fixed bangs and short pink hair, plus a cross-shaped hairpiece accent to capture her innocence and elegance.

The black version, on the other hand, is an unleashing of an entirely different personality. The dark gothic leather-feel corset incorporates metal buckles and lace-up straps; the white inner shirt and black bow tie create a bold color contrast, while outer sheer black mesh and dramatic lantern sleeves add tremendous layering and visual tension. A detail I particularly adore in this look is the bottom half's black garter stockings with leather straps, which not only elongates visual body proportions but also lends the character a crisp, mature charm. For shooting this set, I deliberately chose a deep magenta vintage sofa adorned with intricate patterns and red roses as the backdrop, combined with dim ambient lighting and purple mood lights to create a deep, dramatic atmosphere. This lighting approach perfectly highlights the reflective shine of the leather fabric and the hazy beauty of black mesh.

Regarding hair and makeup across both looks, I maintained stylistic consistency using short pink hair and matching lip makeup as signature anchors, while differentiating eye expressions and poses. The white look required gentle eyes, relaxed postures, and an airy feel with a touch of looking downward; the black look called for sharper eyes, incorporating kneeling positions or hand gestures to strengthen overall presence. During shooting, camera focal length selection and framing were crucial: the white look used a slightly wider angle to showcase wings and set design, while the black look utilized tighter close-ups, focusing heavily on garter stockings and upper-body waistlines.

To be honest, shooting dual looks involved a massive workload—from costume changes and makeup touch-ups to rearranging lighting setups, the whole process tested patience thoroughly. However, seeing two completely distinct styles clash and merge in the final photos brought an indescribable sense of accomplishment. When discussing Remielle in Zenless Zone Zero, many players mention her morally ambiguous, dual nature; my white and black rendition was an attempt to turn those written lore descriptions into visual reality. This shoot gave me new insight into my own character recreation capabilities; every costume detail and set arrangement required thoughtful polish. Rather than just cosplay, it felt like engaging in a deep dialogue with the character.
