This shoot chose a scene where an abandoned railway and forest interweave, which perfectly matches Roxy's setting of traveling around as a traveler. In terms of the witch costume, that iconic wide-brimmed witch hat and the cloak with an orange lining are the focus of accuracy. To create a natural drape, a structured lining fabric was added to the inside of the cloak so that the silhouette won't collapse when walking or raising hands. The wig features light blue double braids with slightly curled ends. When wearing it, attention was paid to the crown height to avoid making the head look flat. The makeup mainly enhanced the blue-purple tones of the pupils, paired with a slightly cool-toned highlight to make the eyes look more mysteriously magical. For props, an iron lantern and a detachable staff were prepared. Small LED light beads can be stuffed into the lantern to emit a subtle light during the shoot, while the staff is sectional, making it easy to carry and change poses. The difficult part during the shoot was controlling the natural light. The light in the woods was very fragmented, so we used a reflector to fill in the facial light while utilizing the extension lines of the railway tracks to guide the sight and create a sense of depth. We tried several poses like sitting-lying, low-angle shots, and a profile shot holding the lantern multiple times, and finally selected these photos with the most natural expressions. This set of photos didn't intentionally strike very chuunibyou poses, but rather focused on capturing that relaxed feeling of walking quietly and occasionally stopping to gaze. I hope you can feel Roxy's gentle yet determined temperament. Although the shooting process was tiring, seeing the final photos made everything worth it. This must be the joy that anime cosplay brings to me.
