[Entelechia cosplay] A Day Carrying a Giant Scythe: Painful Yet Rewarding

This Entelechia cosplay photoshoot was truly a dual test of stamina and endurance. Starting early in the morning with gearing up, the white ruffled bowtie looked gorgeous, but securing it was quite tedious, and adding the red gloves and leg garters required multiple adjustments to reach the ideal state. The most exhausting parts were the wings on my back and that giant scythe—just carrying them from indoors to outdoors already had me breaking a slight sweat.

The lighting on the shooting day was great. The photographer, Lili, had a sharp grasp of light and shadow, intentionally adjusting angles to showcase the texture of the red eyes and Elf ears. Because the props were rather unwieldy, many poses required repeated adjustments; for instance, holding up the scythe made balancing the center of gravity tough, keeping my hands tensed constantly to maintain frame stability. And with the wings, turning around easily bumped against the walls—to avoid damaging the props, we repeatedly shifted positions in narrow hallways, which took considerable care.

The black-and-white color palette accented with red pops stood out remarkably in front of the lens. With outdoor lighting shifting quickly, we seized the time to capture several full-body shots, hoping to highlight the lines of my legs and the overall costume. Overall, although the process was exhausting, seeing how the shots turned out on camera made every effort feel totally worthwhile.

This Anime cosplay photoshoot taught me that details determine success: from grooming the wig and wearing colored contacts to blending the makeup, every step requires patient refinement. Moving locations in such heavy gear was quite tiring, but the on-set vibe was delightful, and seeing that cool, stern texture in the photos brought a deep sense of accomplishment as a cosplayer. I hope when everyone sees this set, you can feel the unique charm of this Gothic style look.
