[Lumine cosplay] Genshin Impact Traveler Zhanjiang Comic Convention Photos

The second wave of convention photos from the Zhanjiang Yunxige Comic Convention. This set of photos was taken in the venue on that day. When I saw this area featuring a steel-framed dome and translucent glass curtain walls, I felt the lighting, shadows, and lines were extremely suitable for capturing frames filled with a sense of adventure and combat. For this comic convention, I prepared this white-dominated combat outfit in advance. The light blue ribbons and golden patterns on the clothing are very eye-catching in the real setting, especially when moving or performing actions, where the dynamic effect of the ribbons is maxed out. The golden sword prop in my hand received some lightweight processing to ensure that wielding it and posing wouldn't be too strenuous, since maintaining high-intensity action output on the convention floor requires weight control of the props as a crucial step. That day's shoot took place at the lawn and wooden box setup. To match the Traveler's sense of adventure, retro kerosene lamps and scrolls were specially added as environmental embellishments. The posture of stepping on a wooden box to draw the sword actually requires core strength to maintain balance, especially while also balancing the display of leg lines and the drape of the skirt. The high-slit skirt paired with over-the-knee boots visually lengthens the overall proportions, but care must also be taken to prevent wardrobe malfunctions during shooting. Photographer Twilight was exceptionally skilled at capturing angles; the top light formed by the circular light source above the venue cast a soft rim light around the character's silhouette. The off-shoulder design and high slit of this outfit are meant to showcase a sense of lightness, but during actual convention walking, anti-slip stickers are still needed to prevent the clothing from shifting. The styling arrangement of the wig and the fixing of the floral hair ornament also required a good amount of time backstage, but the texture of the final photos is truly well worth it. For the character Lumine, I've always felt she possesses a resilient yet gentle trait, so in expression management, I didn't choose overly soft and cute angles, but instead tried to maintain a focused gaze and the tension of a combat stance. For that action of stepping on the wooden box, holding the sword with my right hand and making a loose fist with my left hand while looking toward the lens, my center of gravity was lowered, which better recreates the state of combat readiness from the game. The atmosphere at the Zhanjiang comic convention was quite lively. Walking back and forth inside the venue that day, even with the air conditioning running, the perceived temperature wearing this wrap-feeling outfit and long boots was still quite high. However, being able to capture such photos with an otherworldly traversal feel against the modern architecture background of a steel-framed structure, matched with lawns and wooden boxes, turned out to be a very interesting attempt. The overall color tone and background lines contrasted nicely with the lightness of the character's attire. The post-processing of this set of convention photos actually tried to preserve the complex lighting and shadows of the scene as much as possible, avoiding excessive skin smoothing and color grading, in hopes of conveying that real spatial sense of the convention floor. I look forward to trying more diverse scene setups and character states at the next comic convention. During the posing process, to ensure consistent visual guidance between the sword and the body, the path of the blade and the direction of the gaze were repeatedly adjusted. Although the pedestrian flow in the venue was noisy, once the lens was aimed, I needed to quickly enter the character state and block out the surrounding distractions. The size of the wooden box was just wide enough for the width of one foot, requiring me to find the right friction between the sole and the wooden board when stepping on it to ensure safety while maintaining the posture. The wig used this time underwent special styling treatment at the tips to prevent tangling during outdoor walking, and paired with the floral hair ornament, the overall completion level of the styling was very high. The tailoring and details of this cosplay costume, from the metal buckles on the chest to the prints on the long boots, strived for accurate recreation. Although the convention venue possessed the cold rigidity of modern industrial style, matched with the prior lawn installation, it artificially carved out a fantasy space suitable for the character to perform. Behind every convention photo actually lies multiple rounds of coordination involving clothing arrangement, prop tuning, and on-site positioning. For my understanding of the character, I lean more toward making her look powerful, which requires body language to support. I hope this set of convention photos brings everyone some different visual experiences. That day's shoot was indeed a test of physical strength, but seeing the final photos made all the hard work feel completely worthwhile. This is the fun that comic conventions bring.
