Today at Xuehua, I completed the photoshoot for Snezhnaya's adorable wind seer Vesna! This styling design from Genshin Impact is crafted with immense care and packed with intricate details. During hair and makeup preparation in the morning, styling this pale blonde wig with its teal-and-blue gradient took extensive work; to heighten the 2D anime aesthetic, I paired it with luminous bright blue contact lenses and prosthetic elf ears. The wardrobe has far more dimensional layers than expected: a deep navy bodysuit beneath a white mini skirt, crowned by a plush white fur shoulder capelet that looks wonderfully tactile on camera. Golden piping and gem inlays make the entire ensemble look lavish and unmistakably Snezhnayan.
The venue was an indoor studio styled with vintage European sofas and abundant floral arrangements. The ambiance was incredible—sunlight poured through the windows across reddish-brown terracotta tiles, carved wooden cabinets, and damask sofas, forging a warm, dreamlike atmosphere. Working with photographer Xia Shi was wonderfully seamless. To embody the Tsaritsa's steadfast right hand, I wielded the signature blue-and-gold staff topped with pink blossoms, experimenting with diverse camera setups such as sitting on the floor or leaning along the sofa. The white over-the-knee boots and White stockings in this set beautifully accentuated leg contours during seated poses; combined with the translucent golden-rimmed fairy wings on my back, the overall visual impact was breathtaking. Harnessing the shifting interplay of light and shadow, we captured many effortless, candid moments.
Midway through, we arranged a sweet cake-tasting segment: holding a delicate chocolate pastry on a tiny silver plate with eyes cast gently downward added a charming touch of daily life and gap moe. Although the thick fur collar grew a bit warm indoors and walking around in tall boots demanded careful footing, seeing the rich textures and gorgeous frames on camera made all the effort feel completely worthwhile. I thoroughly enjoyed this shoot at Xuehua—it brought Snezhnaya's sweet side to life with seamless harmony between wardrobe and scenery.
We brainstormed extensively on pose choreography: beyond crisp, capable stances casting spells with the staff, expressing her endearing cuteness was essential, leading to interactive gestures reaching toward the lens. Lounging on the sofa with crossed legs or perching side-seated on the floor kept the frames dynamic and fluid. The skirt pleats and the sheen of the White stockings under natural sunlight produced an unexpectedly gorgeous effect, adding rich textural depth. The weight of the prop and the complexity of the wardrobe never hindered my energy; instead, they immersed me deeper into the character. The deep navy palette stood out vividly against the vintage interior, sharply delineated by golden-yellow and white hems.
For makeup nuances, soft pink eyeshadow was chosen to counterbalance the coolness of the deep blue attire, paired with a natural lip shade to keep the makeup balanced without overpowering the costume. The base focused on dewiness, catching lighting to give the skin a radiant luminescence. The interior set at Xuehua was remarkably tasteful—the natural grain of the woodwork and the floral placements were impeccably balanced without clutter, making shooting an absolute breeze. Looking at the RAW preview files, the color rendition was so faithful that minimal post-processing was needed. The rhythm was brisk yet wonderfully relaxed, with everyone striving to deliver the finest Genshin Impact Snezhnaya atmosphere. Looking back at these photos now, I can still feel the sun's warmth and the pure joy of the shoot.
