[Dottore cosplay] First Attempt at Genshin Impact Dottore: Natural-Born Brat Energy

My very first time cosplaying a male character, and it felt like I was born with pure brat energy for this. I chose Dottore from Genshin Impact because his unapproachable, mad-scientist persona completely hits all my aesthetic sweet spots. The wig color was exceptionally unique; that mint green hue soaked up studio lighting brilliantly. To stay faithful to the canon design, I trimmed the hairline, put on red circle lenses, and elongated my eye shape, instantly dropping the atmospheric pressure behind my gaze. The biggest headache was hand-drawing the patterns on that loose-leaf notebook prop, which took me hours of meticulous sketching before it looked passable. The outfit featured his signature dark green and white color-blocking with gold trim on the coat, delivering wonderful textural weight; pairing tailored shorts with tall boots framed a sleek silhouette that made the legs appear remarkably long.

Usually, I strike dainty or feminine poses in front of the camera, but to project the poise and imposing dominance of a researcher, I deliberately studied his masculine stances—such as straddling the edge of a desk or perching on a chair as shown—practicing weight distribution for a long time. Since a woman's frame is naturally smaller, filling out the broad shoulders of the coat wasn't easy, so I added shoulder pads inside. Staged against an austere laboratory backdrop with cool-toned lighting, metallic textures, wire mesh, retro computers, and microscopes, that icy, clinical edge emerged effortlessly. Lao Pan was curious whether I could pull off this kind of role and jokingly asked if I wanted to see him crossdress—which honestly sounds fun, so maybe next time I'll challenge a genderbent version. The entire session was pure fun; while crossplay demands a rigorous physique and keeping lines sharp and angular, the final shots showed genuine potential. It was an extraordinary experience, and seeing the finished frames deliver that gender-bending allure was deeply rewarding. I pushed for an even sharper presence—resting a hand on my knee or holding notebook pages with one hand, hunting for the most piercing gaze from every angle while exploring multifaceted emotional reactions. The studio atmosphere was thoroughly hardcore, requiring me to hold a haughty, condescending posture throughout. I also spent substantial prep time adjusting inner layers to ensure a clean, tailored fit. It was a thoroughly fulfilling shoot, and the end result exceeded expectations.
