I shot a set of Kuriyama Mirai cosplay in a school classroom, using Sony's FL Creative Look straight out of the camera, with highlights reduced by two stops and shadows boosted by two stops. The atmospheric feel of the entire frame emerged instantly.

Actually, the most effort-consuming part of this look was managing the wig. Kuriyama Mirai's iconic ahoge (cowlick) and short orange hair required repeated adjustments for fluffiness. As for the Red-rimmed glasses, I went through several pairs before finding the one that best matched the original character. For the costume, a sailor uniform inner top paired with a loose knit cardigan not only fits the character setting but also balances the casual feel of the school scene for our Campus photography. During the shoot, we utilized the classroom's wooden desks and chairs along with the natural light by the window, creating a strong sense of immersion.

The "Complete Guide" handbook in my hand is a prop with a handmade modified cover that even has character information printed on it. Holding it instantly gave me the true sensation of being an ability user. There were no overly complex lighting setups throughout the session, completely relying on the built-in color science of the Sony camera to comfortingly restore the warm tones of the orange hair and Red-rimmed glasses.

I tried out the poses of squatting by the desk corner hugging my knees and gripping the giant blood-red sword several times, aiming to recreate her contrasting temperament of being both strong and somewhat vulnerable. Especially for the shot where I'm lying on the desk reaching out my hand, I intentionally used a low perspective to magnify the interaction between the desktop and the character. Every time I portray this character, I have many new reflections. A 2D character walking into a 3D classroom—this joy of breaking the fourth wall in an Anime cosplay experience is truly magical.
