The festive atmosphere of the Lantern Rite can be truly experienced in reality. Taking advantage of the convention and outdoor location shoot opportunities, I finally wore this complete Ganyu outfit to meet everyone. Preparing this styling actually took quite a while. First, let's talk about the head styling: the wig is made of high-temperature synthetic fiber. To achieve that natural draping feel and the structure of the animal ears, I trimmed it for an entire afternoon. Especially the iconic ahoge on top of the head; fine wire was added inside to set its shape so that it could maintain a playful curve even if there was wind on-site. After comparing several brands of purple contact lenses, I finally picked one with soft edges, paired with purple-red eyeshadow slightly upturned at the outer corners of the eyes, trying my best to restore her gentle yet somewhat ethereal demeanor.

The costume has many layers. The black inner wear must fit closely, otherwise wrinkles will affect the visual flatness. For the outer white shawl and sleeve cover parts, the gold borders are made of stiff materials, so you must be careful not to crease them into sharp angles when putting them on and taking them off. The golden bell on the chest is heavier than expected, and it makes a slight metallic clinking sound when walking, which is quite immersive. The finger mobility will be restricted after wearing the dark blue stretch gloves, so when taking props or adjusting clothes on-site, movements need to be gentler. The thick red braided rope and square accessory at the waist are easily deformed when sitting down and need frequent position adjustments. Some thought was put into selecting the black stockings paired for the lower body. To move around freely in crowded places like anime conventions while presenting a good texture in front of the lens, I specially chose this matte material with a micro-translucent effect, which makes the legs less prone to looking pale and less likely to snag. The golden geometric patterns on the front of the thighs are extremely eye-catching. Combined with the red straps at the ankles and black chunky heels, it not only elongates the leg lines, but also naturally guides the visual center to the slender legs when sitting down or making reaching-out interaction poses.

The outdoor shooting location was chosen by a white wall with grayish-black window frames; the cool-toned architectural background happened to set off the classic blue, white, and gold color scheme of this outfit. In terms of lighting, a reflector was used to fill in facial shadows, making the skin texture look finer, and the overall color tone in post-processing also slightly suppressed highlights to add a high-end feel. In the setting of the Lantern Rite, there are warm lights and bustling markets everywhere, so while posing by the cool-toned gray wall, I was actually frantically imagining in my mind that I was standing on the streets of Liyue Harbor, holding a steaming bowl of Almond Tofu in my hands. To fit the character, both standing and sitting postures tried to maintain a slightly reserved yet very earnest feeling, and even the action of reaching out towards the lens carried a hint of playful probing. The costume has many material splices, and during the shoot, shoulder straps and waist ropes needed to be constantly adjusted, just to present the most perfect state at the instant the shutter was clicked. Every time I do a cosplay, from makeup testing to location shooting, it is an immersive process of experiencing the character. This festive-themed outfit can also be considered a Lantern Rite gift to myself.
