For this shoot, I chose to capture Cartethyia on an outdoor wooden boardwalk by the water, mainly wanting to experiment with the collision between modern leisure and fantasy elf aesthetics. The sunlight was wonderful that day; though the light was relatively harsh, it was perfect for carving out a clean, translucent texture, framing the blue-and-white palette with an ultra-refreshing feel.

Let's start with the outfit and styling. This costume features numerous layers, so the ruffled structures at the shoulders and cuffs required constant adjusting during shooting to ensure dimensional depth in frame. The blonde hair and pointed ears are the true soul of the look; to harmonize with the material of the Elf ears, I specifically selected drop earrings with teardrop-shaped blue pendants, which echo the broad blue choker around my neck. The black mark on my forehead was a focal point of the makeup, needing to be drawn cleanly and crisply.

The primary prop used was a clear inflatable swim ring filled with glitter, topped with a yellow rubber duck. Even as a simple prop, it added a wonderful pop of accent color—introducing bright yellow into the cool blue tones instantly enriched the photo's visual layers. To capture that relaxed, effortless feel of lounging on a Summer beach, I relaxed my center of gravity, leaned back slightly, and naturally crossed my legs. Reflections on the transparent swim ring were actually quite tricky to manage; the photographer tested multiple angles before bypassing harsh glare to preserve the interior glitter texture.

One detail I was particularly thrilled with was the close-up shot of my feet. White ribbon straps with metallic pendants were tied around the ankles, complemented by a barefoot look that felt visually lighter and more evocative of summer than wearing shoes. The yellow floral bracelet on my wrist formed a subtle visual rhyme with the anklet in the sunlight. Compositionally, the third photo turned out the best: the expansive setting incorporated the city skyline, sun parasols, and folding chairs into a complete leisure scene, while the character was centered in an elongated pose that showcased the outfit's silhouette in full.

Throughout the session, the natural color temperature and authentic texture of outdoor sunlight proved irreplaceable by studio lighting. Although fill lights required continuous recalibration and water highlights and shadows needed post-processing care, seeing the finished selects made all the preparation worthwhile. Cartethyia's aloof grace and summer vitality blended into a truly singular atmosphere in this real-world environment.
