This time I'm cosplaying a swimsuit character from Blue Archive. Although the official illustration looks like a refreshing summer style, my actual shooting location is in an equatorial climate with temperatures above 30 degrees year-round, so the joke about "wearing a swimsuit in winter" is a completely reasonable operation for me. The most time-consuming parts of the whole costume were the wings and the head accessories. The feathers are made of a translucent material and supported by built-in fine iron wires, allowing them to open naturally during dynamic shots, but I have to be extremely careful when putting them away. I chose a bright pink swim ring as a prop to contrast with the main white-and-blue color palette, making it pop more visually. The wig is a long hair style. To prevent it from looking messy, I used hairspray to set the bangs and the sideburns before the shoot, but the bow and floral ornaments on top needed extra fixation, otherwise they would easily tilt.
For the background, I used a white plush carpet and translucent curtains to simulate the light and shadow inside a beachside tent. In reality, two dual-color temperature fill lights (warm and cool) were set up indoors, along with a rainbow prism to refract rainbow light flares, so those color gradients in the frame were not added in post-processing. I originally wanted to capture a lively and cheerful vibe, but with the phone's front-facing perspective and a cross-legged sitting posture, it ended up looking a bit lazy and casual, which actually fits the "vacation relaxation" state perfectly. Regarding props, I also prepared a transparent inflatable cushion, but sitting on it made it easy to slip, so I ended up just using the plush carpet to sit on.
The entire shooting process took about two hours, mostly spent on adjusting the angles of the wings and the curve of the wig. Since I couldn't see myself directly from the front, I had to keep taking test shots to correct them. For this makeup look, I deliberately desaturated the eyeshadow and used light-colored highlighter to brighten the inner corners of my eyes to make my gaze more transparent. Paired with the white-haired anime character wig, the overall temperament gets closer to that sheer, refreshing feeling of the original work. Although I won't say the character's name directly (for fear of misremembering it), any Blue Archive player who sees this outfit and accessories should be able to recognize who it is. I finally chose this photo of holding up my phone for a selfie as the cover because the angle perfectly captures the wings, the swim ring, and the rainbow halo in the frame, while not looking too forced—it genuinely looks like a candid moment snapped during a vacation for this casual cosplay share.
