For this outdoor photoshoot at the Puyuan Esports Festival, I chose Yin Ziping's Chalcedony Ice Core outfit from NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, which can be considered a deep recreation of this cute character. The design of this modified cheongsam for the Chalcedony Ice Core skin has very distinctive features: the pure white primary palette is matched with black piping, and the signature gourd-shaped hollow cutout at the waist combines with traditional Chinese frog closure elements, retaining an ancient and traditional style foundation while preserving the agility of anime aesthetics. What I'm most satisfied with about the styling is the pair of white fluffy pom-pom hair accessories on top of the head; paired with long black hair and blunt bangs, it completely pins down Yin Ziping's playful and lively image.

The shooting location was selected at Puyuan Ancient Town, where the stone bridges, water alleys, and ancient buildings naturally carry their own filters. We first shot that set of photos on the stone steps by the water. I sat on the edge of the stone slab with my legs naturally draping down, holding a half-open black and white folding fan, surrounded by the quiet dark water surface. The photographer's composition was highly ingenious; the water surface clearly reflected the entire white outfit and the swaying fan like a mirror, making the serenity of the Jiangnan water town harmonize unexpectedly well with the cool and elegant temperament of the Chalcedony Ice Core.

Since it's a recreation of this character, I couldn't just show the quiet side. Yin Ziping is a girl in the game who speaks sharply but has a soft heart; her line "After Ziping beats you to the ground, she won't apply medicine for you!" leaves a deep impression. Therefore, during the shoot, I also attempted more lively gestures filled with visual tension. For instance, on the stone bridge, I lifted one hand to strike a dance-like pose while holding the fan in the other hand, with the skirt hem slightly fluttering up, trying to display her nimble and flexible traits despite her petite stature. Or standing on the stone steps of this ancient town, pulling a playful peace sign toward the lens, with two black swans happening to swim by in the background—that vibrant slice-of-life atmosphere instantly popped out.

Many people think cosplay is just changing into a costume and standing in front of a background, but as a cosplayer who frequently participates in outdoor photoshoots, I deeply know that every single detail is crucial. The Chalcedony Ice Core outfit has many details, such as the ruffles on the shoulders, the pleated trim on the skirt hem, and the black bows on the over-the-knee socks. To match this outfit, I specially selected clear high-heeled sandals to visually elongate the leg lines without stealing the spotlight. The black and white folding fan prop is also key to the entire look; different ways of holding it can transmit entirely different emotions through this journey of cosplay photography.

During the shooting process, what surprised me most was the utilization of light and shadow. Although the weather that day wasn't bright, this diffused, soft light source was exactly what kept the white clothing from overexposing, instead presenting a warm, jade-like texture. When shooting while sitting on the stone steps, the shadows at the edges of the skirt hem and socks naturally outlined the silhouette. I feel that the significance of cosplay lies not only in imitation, but also in bringing a character that originally stayed on the screen into real-life scenes through one's own understanding. The flagstone paths of Puyuan Ancient Town, the mottled wooden architecture, and the reflections on the water surface all became the best backdrops for Yin Ziping's Chalcedony Ice Core.

Of course, walking around an ancient town dressed like this yielded a very high rate of turned heads, especially when crossing the stone bridges. However, to restore the character, these small interludes are completely harmless. The design of this Chalcedony Ice Core skin has an excellent sense of layers; from both the color palette and the tailoring, it is filled with a modern national trend flavor. This attempt was not only a tribute to the character but also a highly satisfying outdoor experience. I hope this photo set allows everyone to see a different side of Yin Ziping—a girl who can be active on the competitive arena, yet quietly dwell in a Jiangnan water town.
