Bringing Amiya's summer limited look on Day 3 of the Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo offered a completely different refreshing outfit pairing. Shaking off heavy uniforms, I switched into a pink, blue, and white plaid off-shoulder top paired with distressed denim shorts and black platform sandals—a look custom-tailored for summer. To fit the \"summer limited\" theme, considerable thought went into the hat design: the straw hat brim was decorated with pink faux flowers and topped with green sunglasses full of summer vibe, along with signature animal ears. Walking outside the venue as the wind caught the hat brim's ribbons, it already felt like a relaxed summer convention photoshoot.
In terms of color selection, this outfit extensively uses refreshing palettes. The plaid pattern on the top avoids monotony, while ruffles on the neckline and cuffs bring out a playful charm. Blue accessories served as distinct accents: a blue choker on the neck, a blue ring on the finger, and a blue lace leg band on the thigh not only created color harmony but also made the overall look more exquisite. Light skin-toned tights paired with black platform sandals ensured all-day walking comfort at the convention while visually lengthening leg lines.
Special thanks go once again to photographer NightDiva for managing this shoot. Under natural outdoor light, the photographer keenly captured many dynamic moments. For instance, when holding the small bunny plush close to my cheek, the badge detail on its chest came through vividly clear; paired with focused gaze, Operator Amiya's gentle nature shone through. During the shoot, holding a round fan printed with the iconic logo and star patterns provided shade while serving as a key prop—much like the water bottle in hand and the light blue handbag on the ground, enriching the everyday atmosphere of the scene.
In crowded convention settings, we specifically sought areas with greenery and building edges to dodge crowds. Utilizing a simple black photography ladder nearby, I tried more open, stretched poses. Seated on the ladder with one leg extended naturally and the other slightly bent on the step, combined with raising hands to form peace signs overhead or looking back while holding the round fan, this blend of high-angle overview and low-angle perspective easily highlighted leg length. The panoramic shot sitting on the ladder with the light blue cooler bag placed beside it truly captured an authentic summer outing feel.
Of course, the convention weather was sweltering, with outdoor temperatures reaching nearly 30+ °C—a real test for makeup and hair. I sprayed plenty of hairspray under the straw hat to lock the wig in place and applied multiple layers of setting powder to ensure zero makeup breakdown all day. Maintaining physical comfort is a prerequisite for successful Cosplay photography. Because of this heat, I deeply resonated with the line: \"Doctor, even if it's hot in summer, please don't drink icy beverages all the time... It's for your health.\" Pounding the pavement in such heat makes stomachs vulnerable to sudden cold drinks, so my thermos actually held warm water, which quenched thirst while taking care of the stomach. Perhaps this is Amiya's \"occupational habit\"—even squinting under bright sunlight, she can't help worrying about others' health.
This summer bunny look gained lots of love from passersby during hall walks, with many stopping to ask for photos. That's the unique charm of offline expos: meticulously prepared costumes and props allow others to feel another side of the character. Furthermore, bringing game characters into real-life settings like convention days or summer outings is an inherently fun creative avenue. Compared to grand battle armor, this relaxed, lifestyle-oriented attire bridges the gap with the audience even better.
Overall, this trip to the Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo was thoroughly fulfilling. Not only did we shoot satisfying summer Amiya photos, but we also felt the intense passion of the convention amid the heatwave. I hope these photos pass along that summer coolness and ease to everyone.
