[Qingyi cosplay] Ready the Weapon: The Senior of New Eridu Reports for Duty

Choosing a vintage comic bookstore as the backdrop for this shoot created a very intriguing contrast with Qingyi's Tactical Techwear style. When I first saw this character design, I was instantly captivated by the teal twintails and midriff-baring armor. Teal is a color that visually tests skin tone and texture, but wearing this striking wig paired with the character's innate "senior" aura actually sharpened my overall presence.

Regarding the details of this outfit, I truly poured a lot of thought into it. The cropped jacket on top with black armor patchwork features not only a mechanical chest emblem but also heavy armor plates on the arms; wearing it definitely gives a snug, armored fit. The tactical belt around the waist is also very elaborate—besides attached buckles, the small device labeled "POWER" on the side and metallic fasteners give the entire look a rich three-dimensional feel. The dark hot pants on the lower half paired with blue thigh straps accentuate leg lines without feeling plain, perfectly matching the character's crisp, resolute combat tone in this Anime-style OOTD.

The soul of the entire look is undoubtedly that polearm weapon. The weapon shaft features reflective materials with the clear "SIREN" inscription. During shooting, we specifically utilized a top-down, high-angle perspective to simultaneously showcase the weapon's linear extension and dynamic action tension. The cross-handed grip looks both defensive and poised to strike, which, combined with the white arrow component at the top and metallic chains, creates an illusion of motion in static photos. To recreate this stance as faithfully as possible before the lens, I repeatedly adjusted the load-bearing positioning of my arms and knees, as kneeling on one knee while lifting heavy props can easily look stiff if the center of gravity is off.

The lighting technician on set cooperated wonderfully, choosing high-contrast side-top lighting that cast crisp highlights and deep shadows across the backdrop wall, jawline, collarbone, and armor. This slightly rugged lighting suited the character's style impeccably. The vintage bookshelves and comic covers behind also added a touch of everyday life from the streets of New Eridu, contrasting nicely with the high-tech combat suit.

Whenever players call me "Senior" in the game, I feel deeply immersed. So in front of the lens this time, I strove to nail that poised, calm attitude while remaining ready to engage in battle at any moment. Although the shooting process required constant repositioning, adjusting prop chains, and ensuring hair and accessories wouldn't shift during vigorous movements, seeing the final Cosplay photography results made all the prep work feel completely worthwhile. Shooting collaboration went very smoothly, with lighting and composition faithfully recreating the character's intrinsic texture. I hope this photo set conveys my genuine love for this Zenless Zone Zero character design.
