For this Azur Lane Yat Sen photoshoot, I prepared two distinct wardrobe options. The first set features a white tulle gown layered under a sheer, translucent long robe, accented with thin blue ribbons across the bodice for an airy, ethereal, and dreamy look. When wearing this set, I paired it with over-the-knee White stockings and white high heels, which beautifully elongated the leg lines. A white oiled paper umbrella served as a shooting prop; whether standing beneath the open canopy or sitting along the covered corridor, the billowing tulle catching the gentle breeze delivered stunning photographic frames.
The second outfit is a green-and-white color-blocked maxi dress. The top is an emerald-green halter style featuring a mandarin stand collar and cold-shoulder cutouts, adorned with a delicate black bowknot at the chest and cinched around the waist with slender green ties. The white skirt features high side slits, naturally revealing leg contours during movement. This look was styled with green high heels, while the hair accessories were swapped for green-and-white floral pins with flowing tassels. To channel the character's serene slice-of-life charm, a Chinese tea set was staged atop the rockery stones; pouring tea and holding the teacup added poised elegance to the overall posture.
The location was a Classical Chinese garden complete with rockeries, ponds, and circular moon gates. Natural sunlight filtering through leafy canopies cast wonderfully soft, seamless chiaroscuro over the fabrics. To evoke authentic ancient poise, I made numerous fine adjustments to my gestures—such as how to hold the folding fan, where the gaze rested, and the angle of crossed legs when seated on the rocks—striving to find postures that felt organic while accentuating garment tailoring. Outdoor shooting is physically demanding, especially walking around in heels and White stockings, but seeing how the leg lines harmonized with the fluid drape of the skirt made every bit of fatigue worthwhile.
For hair and makeup, I maintained a pristine, translucent aesthetic: long straight black hair with blunt bangs accented by floral hairpins with dangling fringe, evoking gentle demureness. Yat Sen naturally embodies classical elegance, so expression control remained focused on subtle smiles or gently bowed gazes, steering clear of exaggerated gestures. Though both coordinates belong to the white-and-green spectrum, pairing them with different props and scenes cultivated distinctly diverse atmospheres—one leaning celestial and ethereal, the other poised and stately. Throughout the session, I constantly communicated with the photographer regarding fabric folds and skirt flare to ensure peak presentation before the lens. From ironing each garment to executing the location shoot, the entire set came together smoothly and fully met expectations.
