[Ibuki Cosplay] Azur Lane, The Festive Atmosphere of Dragon Empery Lunar New Year is Fully Loaded

This shoot settled on Ibuki's Dragon Empery Lunar New Year theme, and there were quite a few details in the specific execution. The shooting venue selected was a Chinese studio scene with warm yellow and true red as the undertones, cooperating with side-backlighting to create a crystal-clear Tyndall effect. Wooden carved screens, traditional bamboo chairs, brocade cushions, and red gauze curtains, together with sugar-coated haw branches packed with imitation red berries, golden sycees symbolizing wealth, red-and-white plush small objects, and scattered red envelopes and blessing cards, jointly constructed a scene rich in New Year flavor.

Looking at the costume design, the outer layer is a patchwork of white light gauze and blue-purple tulle, granting a flowing grace to the whole look. The dark corset inner wear outlines the silhouette, with golden piping and red patterns embellished between the lapels, matching the prosperous and red atmosphere of the festival. The lower body is paired with a short tulle skirt of the same color system; the barefoot styling makes the overall lines look clean and sharp, and the accessories do not overshadow the main subject.

During the shooting process, we tried several postures. For example, curling legs up while sitting on the floor mat with bare feet placed, attempting to restore the lazy side of the character; we also tried kneeling, adjusting the line of sight to fit the gentle temperature of the scene. In the two sets shot on the chair, the transitions between different emotional states of the character were presented through gestures of slightly raising the arms and standing with hands on hips.

I feel that shooting with this warm-toned side light makes both the skin texture and the clothing materials look highly premium. The shimmering reflection of the tulle skirt, the luster of the golden sycees, and even the blessing cards at the corner of the table appear extraordinarily vivid under the light and shadow. In terms of makeup and styling, we adjusted the color layers of the eye makeup, adding a touch of red tones to balance the visual intensity brought by the blue hair and red pupils. Although the blue-purple of the wig and the black horns on the head look lightweight, they maintain the impressionable feel of the original character in the styling.

Being in such an environment indeed easily inspires an understanding of the character. A screen full of Chinese elements and a rich festive aura made it feel as though we were truly immersed in that bustling moment. This time, the Dragon Empery Lunar New Year themed Anime cosplay centered around Ibuki was not only an effort to restore the costumes, props, and makeup, but also channeled a tangible emotional atmosphere. Usually, the character might lean more toward being cold and glamorous or piercingly sharp, but this set of photos amplified that soft touch deep within Ibuki's heart during the celebration moments of this Cosplay photography work.

The temperature in the studio on the day of the shoot was just right, and when the light hit the skin, it gave a very grounded feeling. Although the props and set design piled up many red elements, because the blue-purple and light gauze in the costume maintained overall visual breathability, the final output effect turned out quite balanced. I am relatively satisfied with the styling and expression management this time, and through these prosperous and bustling backgrounds, I experienced an immersive atmosphere distinct from daily shoots.
