【Yixuan cosplay】The Calm Solution in Zenless Zone Zero, Coexistence of Coolness and Valiant Chic

When I got this character setting, my first reaction was that cold and unquestionable aura, which perfectly aligns with the calmness behind the motto "No rush, everything has a solution" behind its unbothered demeanor. This time, the location chosen was a Chinese-style wooden corridor environment. This simple and ancient background formed a wonderful contrast with Yixuan's tech-wear apparel, which is mainly black and white with a glossy texture.

The core part of the costume is that black patchwork glossy jacket. The leather texture is exceptionally spot-on, and combined with the cinched waist design, it beautifully outlines the body lines. The blue flower brooch on the chest is the visual highlight of the entire look, popping out from the dark outfit just perfectly. The white multi-layered ruffled mini skirt echoes the cuffs, possessing both anime exquisiteness and a touch of flowing agility. The gray-and-white water-ripple skirt hem naturally spreads out when turning, which looks absolutely gorgeous.

The photographer @DouDouJiang was highly skilled at capturing light and shadow on the day of the shoot. We utilized the natural light source from behind to create a backlit atmosphere. The greatest benefit of this light is that it highlights a soft halo around the edges of the wig, making the white hair look exceptionally translucent. Combined with the light-colored contacts, the cold, detached look in the eyes maxed out instantly. Walking along the corridor, I adjusted my pace rhythm slightly. The echoes of the black high heels on the bluestone paths interweaving with the on-site light and shadow truly brought a strong sense of immersion.

In terms of styling, the black-and-white color scheme tights and black glossy high heels are definitely powerful tools to elevate elegance. It not only elongates the leg visual proportions but also makes the entire character look taller and sharper. Regarding the action design, this time I intentionally chose a cross-legged standing pose, paired with a side profile and a raised arm, which nicely stretches the overall visual lines. The black tights show a slightly transparent texture under backlighting, and paired with the height of the heels, they make the leg lines look particularly slender. This seemingly casual stance actually requires core strength support to look relaxed but not sloppy in this black tights outfit.

Personally, I feel the most interesting point of this cosplay is the collision between the "ancient wooden corridor" and the "sense of a futuristic city." The character setting of Yixuan itself carries a dual nature of classical wisdom and modern avant-garde. Shuttling through traditional Chinese architecture while wearing modern apparel with metal chains and glossy leather—this aesthetic of distorted time and space is precisely the charm of Anime-style photography. To find the optimal angle for this Chinese-style scene cosplay, we shot many groups of different dynamic and static poses beforehand, striving to ensure that every frame was error-free.

In addition, I made special adjustments to the makeup. The base makeup emphasized a clean and flawless finish, while the eye makeup used earth tones to deepen the contours, paired with ultra-fine eyeliner and glittering eyeshadow to brighten the inner corners of the eyes. This nicely neutralized the heaviness that the glossy jacket might bring. For the wig, the length of the bangs was trimmed to let it fall lightly on the forehead without blocking the view while ensuring a natural restoration.

Many friends might be curious whether wearing such a rigid jacket and heavy wig for a long time causes discomfort during the shooting process. In fact, to ensure excellent photo results, these are all inevitable. Try your best to adjust your breathing and state during shooting breaks so that every photo displays the most comfortable appearance. In terms of character recreation, besides the external apparel, makeup, and hair, mastering the demeanor is also key. Yixuan usually gives off a feeling of being highly stable internally, so the gaze needs to focus and expressions must be restrained. In front of the lens, no exaggerated body movements are needed; just a natural lifting of the hand or a slight side tilt can reflect that calm and unhurried coolness.

This time, most of our energy was spent on polishing details, including the placement of the brooch and the metallic buckles of the jacket, striving to match the character's traits everywhere. I hope this set of photos can showcase the Yixuan who looks lazy but actually has everything under control. I thoroughly enjoyed this afternoon of creation with @DouDouJiang, using light and shadow to record this unique temperament. Spending an entire afternoon meticulously refining movements and expressions, the final finished photos indeed achieved the expected results.
