[Yixuan Cosplay] Graceful Wind-Mastery and Glowing Spells in Zenless Zone Zero

This set of photos records my official Yixuan cosplay Cosplay photoshoot for Zenless Zone Zero, portraying her dignified presence while practicing taoist spells in a traditional Chinese setting.

The core of the entire outfit lies in the deconstruction and reconstruction of modern techwear and traditional Chinese-style fantasy elements. A yellow casual long trench coat paired with a white inner top and black shorts creates a striking color block contrast, while the fluttering hemline enhances the visual dynamic tension. The trickiest part of makeup and hair was handling the texture of the silver-white hair. To ensure the wig looked naturally glossy under the lens without obvious wig edges, I spent significant time thinning it down and rearranging strand textures prior to wearing it. Paired with intense eye makeup, I aimed to recreate Yixuan's calm yet sharp gaze.

As for the lower body outfit, the asymmetric high boots were a part I was extremely satisfied with. The black spliced leather portion on the left leg features abundant metal buckle details, where zippers and straps unite to make the leg line look crisp and slender. The right leg features stacked heavy black platform boots and white knee-high socks; this asymmetrical visual mismatch aligns brilliantly with vanguard designs seen across Zenless Zone Zero fan creations.

Regarding props and special effects, we invested tremendous effort. The levitating golden orb held in my hand was crafted by prop artists with an internal LED frame, while the surrounding black thorn-like effect pieces were 3D printed, meticulously sanded, and painted. Once powered, it radiates a mysterious, fire-like halo. Floating golden talismans in the frame utilized reflective material, refracting a burning orange hue under studio lights, which combined with drifting white fog to instantly max out the Chinese-style fantasy atmosphere.

In terms of composition and post-production, the photographer chose backlit methods brimming with imposing presence, utilizing heavy low-angle shots. This perspective not only conveys the character's overbearing aura but also presents the proportions of platform techwear boots and legs in the most direct way. Combined with a wide aperture blurring foreground stone lions, carved stone railings, and background eaved architecture, the character stands out three-dimensionally with rich layering.

The shooting process for this Cosplay photoshoot actually severely tested physical endurance, as it required pacing up and down uneven greenstone steps while angling the glowing prop to catch optimal facial lighting. Capturing that perfect moment of a swirling trench coat amidst rising fog often required dozens of continuous burst shots. Due to glowing components in the props, high ambient darkness was required, forcing us to wait until twilight and dusk to capture the ideal fusion between natural light and prop illumination.

The Taiji Yin-Yang symbols and ancient wooden doors appearing in the frame added a thick layer of Taoist mysticism to the work. Swaying bamboo shadows and falling red maples also contributed a desolate aesthetic. Placing a modern anime techwear character into such traditional settings produced a highly intriguing visual collision.

This shoot was not only a recreation of a character, but also a test of my own expressiveness and costume/prop crafting accuracy. Beyond green screens or indoor studios, completing an outdoor location shoot in a setting rich with Chinese traditional cultural heritage brings a immense sense of accomplishment. I hope this final set conveys Yixuan's effortless, wind-commanding aura in Zenless Zone Zero to everyone!
