[Yixuan cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Ink and Shadow: Come Here, My Good Disciple

For this photoshoot, I chose the Ink and Shadow attire for Yixuan from Zenless Zone Zero, primarily drawn to its intense visual contrast.

Extensive prep went into the wardrobe beforehand. The jacket is made from structured black patent leather—a material exceptionally demanding under lights, as excessive shine easily blows out highlights while insufficient light kills the glossy texture. On set, we used large softboxes paired with dual side rim lights to carve out the leather's sleek sheen. The white ruffled collar and golden chain details were delicately crafted, while the blue chest insignia faithfully recreated the canon design. The white pleated skirt features muted grey-purple prints, offering a fluid drape that fluttered naturally with movement.

For hair and makeup styling, managing the voluminous, wavy silver-white wig took considerable time. To maintain volume and multi-tiered layering, hair padding was inserted at the crown, with subtle black bobby pins securing the fringe. Reddish-brown eyeshadow paired with an upturned winged liner captured Yixuan's effortless nonchalance laced with majestic authority.

We explored two distinct staging approaches: The first was a seated posture, crossing legs to fully showcase the Black tights outfit and sleek lines of the high heels. Tossing a hand through my hair while locking eyes with the lens evoked that commanding yet alluring vibe of 'Come here, my good disciple,' making it my absolute favorite select. The second was a dynamic three-quarter profile, leveraging wind-blown silver hair and a fluttering skirt hem to amplify dramatic tension, with hand gestures mirroring combat stance setups from official art.

The trickiest part was sustaining taut leg lines in high heels over long intervals while maintaining composed facial expressions, requiring numerous resets to nail the perfect moment. Studio time flew by, and seeing the desired tactile richness on camera made all the effort worthwhile. This Ink and Shadow cosplay interpretation strove to honor the source material in both nuance and detail, delivering a thoroughly immersive creative journey.
