This time, for shooting the Christmas Rem look, I specially chose an indoor retro warm-toned scene and used a full-length mirror with a golden carved border as the core prop. In terms of equipment, to adapt to these rather voluminous costume designs, I chose the Sony a7 IV paired with the FE 50mm F1.2 GM lens. The beautiful bokeh brought by the wide aperture can effectively avoid messy elements that might appear in the background, while guaranteeing sharp rendering of the subject and costume details.

In the overall costume design, I intentionally merged the red and white Christmas outfit color scheme with the character's classic elements. The white lace high-collar on the upper body matches the red and white bow at the chest, providing rich layers, and the waist-baring design visually elongates the body shape. The deep red layered short skirt on the lower body utilizes a texture fabric with metallic luster, which, paired with the loop of dark green bow and gold-bordered star patches at the waist, creates a strong yet harmonious color contrast. The red and green stripes on the gloves form a great echo with the color scheme at the waist.

Regarding the makeup and hair, the trimming of the light blue wig is key; I carefully adjusted the position of the bangs to maintain Rem's characteristic single-sided eye-covering look while avoiding blocking the line of sight. The makeup follows a translucent sweet girl photoshoot style, keeping the base makeup as light and thin as possible, with a focus on optimizing the contours of the eyes, making the eyes appear large and spirited through fine handling of eyeliner and eyelashes. That little crown on the head decoration goes perfectly with the pink cord knots, and combined with the white down wings on the back, it enhances the overall lightweight feel of the character visually.

Interaction during the shoot mainly relied on that vintage European gold-rimmed full-length mirror. The mirror is not only a reflective prop but also serves to extend space within the frame. As everyone can see in several finished photos, the back and side views of the character reflected in the mirror give the entire photoset a richer narrative sense. However, when shooting this kind of mirror composition, the biggest challenge to overcome is avoiding accidental crew/gear reflections, adjusting the camera position to ensure only the model and the mirror image enter the frame, while the photographer and equipment must be cleverly hidden outside the viewfinder. The photo in picture 4, with hands clasped in front of the chest, beautifully captures the character's soft demeanor, and the reflection in the mirror also balances the composition just right.

Due to wearing feather wings, the model's movements were somewhat restricted when making large-scale motions, so we tried to choose some small-scale actions to showcase the character's playful side, such as pointing a single finger to the sky or clasping hands together. Overall, the layers of the clothing and the coordination of the props presented ideal effects on set. During post-processing, while maintaining the original color restoration, I moderately brought down the highlights of the red skirt hem and enhanced the transparency of the white feathers and lace, making the overall image texture appear clean and smooth, gentle like the winter sun, beautifully displaying Rem's fresh and sweet temperament under this special holiday attire from Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World.
