This studio shoot for Yixuan cosplay from Zenless Zone Zero focused on capturing the character's cold, mysterious demeanor. Paired with a shiny black leather jacket and a white turtleneck, along with black stockings and red-bottom stiletto heels, the overall styling creates a strong visual impact.
Let's talk about costume details. This shiny black coat was actually one of the key points of character recreation. It reflects light noticeably under intense lighting, placing high demands on lighting setup during the shoot—we had to bring out the material's gloss without overexposing and losing fabric texture. The white turtleneck under the coat paired with a striking blue corsage forms a vibrant color contrast, echoing the pure white hair and highlighted bangs.
For the lower half, I selected glossy black stockings paired with black heels featuring red soles. The red soles look exceptionally photogenic in a studio shoot setting, and combined with the sheer, luminous texture of the stockings, they really help highlight the leg lines.
The set design for this studio shoot also involved a lot of thought. The team selected Japanese-style wooden lattice windows and classic wooden chairs, with a circular painted screen depicting floral branches and birds in the background, complemented by a warm yellow floor lamp on the right, setting a classical, gentle tone for the entire photoset. I also used a gold-dusted black folding fan, experimenting with various poses with and without the fan. As the description notes, with endlessly varied poses—from standing and sitting to leaning against the side of a chair—the reflections off the patent leather and the drape of the coat tail were displayed in different ways under the light.
The photographer made many experiments with light-and-dark contrasts in Cosplay photography. The warm light source on the right hit the contours of my hair and coat perfectly, separating the subject from the background and making my facial features look more three-dimensional. For my eyes, I chose amber contact lenses, which appeared crystal clear under the studio strobes, capturing the gaze very effectively.
Although the props and outfit materials slightly restricted the range of movement during the shoot, the texture of the photos turned out fantastic. This character from Zenless Zone Zero has a very distinct design style; while the outfit structure is somewhat complex, the aura it bestows when worn is truly unique. Participating in the Zenless Zone Zero Creator Incentive Program theme also gave me even more motivation to polish every character detail.
