[Ganyu Cosplay] A Moment of Leisure Today

While organizing this photo set, the very first thought that popped into my head was indeed "no overtime today." From the initial planning, this shoot aimed to present a relaxed and dreamy atmosphere, avoiding compositions that feel too heavy or tense, allowing everyone to feel the rare sense of ease the character enjoys outside her heavy workload.

First, let's talk about the costume and makeup/styling. The blue and white wig was given multi-layered texture processing; the curls on both sides, along with hair strands falling gently over the shoulders, beautifully reveal a silky texture under light sources. As for the headwear, white flower clusters combined with red ribbons complement the signature curved black horns; although the red and white pattern on the horns is partially covered by hair in some shots, it is very distinct in close-ups and profile angles. The top features a black halter neck off-the-shoulder design with exquisite lace edging; the central bow tie displays a striking ruby red, while hanging golden tassels add a splash of elegance to the overall look. The outer light-blue ruffled short skirt, layered white pleated apron, and standalone sheer puff sleeves feel slightly heavy when worn, but under studio lighting, the sheer tulle reflects light softly rather than looking bulky. For the lower half, opaque black tights were chosen, with red bows at the calves serving as a finishing touch that echoes the neck bow, pairing with white pumps to visually elongate the leg lines.

Next, let's chat about the shooting location and planning. The staging and photography took place at 50ding Image Studio, a sunroom with exceptional natural lighting. White window frames, white wrought-iron benches, and an abundance of artificial flower arrangements—ranging from pink roses to pale yellow daisies—were set up to build a high-key mini sunroom/conservatory. The lighting gear provided by YONGNUO played an indispensable role; we used plenty of backlighting and side-backlighting techniques to naturally generate lens flare effects from the bright outdoor light. This high-key Anime-style photography places high demands on the photographer's control over lighting ratios; otherwise, it's easy to overexpose the frame or leave the face looking dull. During shooting, flower clusters on the ground, surrounding plant stands, and a delicate white tea set on the table served as great foreground and accent elements, enriching the composition's depth.

For pose management, considering the interaction between this dress and the bench, I started with seated positions. Posing sideways on the bench with feet slightly raised required careful handling of the dress hemline and slit to prevent wardrobe malfunctions. White flower bouquets and small flower pots served as props, making hand gestures look natural whether held or placed nearby. Extending arms, resting a chin on a hand, and making direct eye contact with the camera were all meant to align with that lazy, serene feel. Of course, returning to the primary theme of this set—in conjunction with the Genshin Impact Creator Incentive Program and a Shenzhen photoshoot collaboration—I hoped to blend the character's everyday life with two-dimensional aesthetics through the lens. A great Cosplay set is never just about getting a clear shot of the face; hair strand shapes, direction of clothing folds, light color temperature, every detail and on-site adjustment impacts the final output. I am thrilled to bring this concept to life, and special thanks to all staff on set for their cooperation and support.
