[Momoka Hanyuu cosplay] Arknights: The Shining Moment at the Crossroads

The Showa-era idol look has been full of anticipation since the test makeup, and the final presented effect this time indeed gave me a huge surprise. The entire outfit makes clever echoes in the red, blue, and white color scheme, which, combined with the bright red bow and the light orange-pink hair color, gives the overall temperament a highly intense sense of vitality. Before shooting, I spent quite a bit of time adjusting the details of the inner wear; the deep blue skirt structure combined with the red semi-transparent tulle outer cape can form a great sense of layering when moving, which is also why this outfit eats light and shadow so much.

To restore the character's charm well, the matching of props is also crucial. This time, I held a red, white, and silver long-handled weapon, with relatively delicate gears and hollow structures on top. During the shoot, I had to keep my movements from blocking my face while letting the weapon's lines extend as completely as possible in the frame. During the actual shoot, I adjusted the basic standing pose through several versions alone. To make the proportions of the boots, waist corset, and coat look more pleasing to the eye, I specially selected a pair of white thick-soled boots with red crisscross laces, and the addition of thick golden heels added a touch of refinement to the entire styling.

This studio shoot selected three completely different scene styles. For the first set with an orange background and water mist, I chose to stand on a round platform base, where the effect of the water mist drifting down from above created a refreshing yet slightly dreamy atmosphere. From this perspective, the focus of presentation is actually on the character's uprightness and the tension of the weapon in hand. The second set featured a pure white background; this kind of clean lighting can restore the makeup details and the texture of the costume itself to the greatest extent. Sitting on the white round platform, I naturally stretched my legs while making a peace sign, which allowed me to completely relax at that moment, making the frame look more approachable.

And my personal favorite is the third set with golden sequins. Coordinating with the warm yellow background, raising my hands to let sequin paper scraps drift down from around, that feeling of joy and cheering is truly about to burst out. This kind of dynamic snapshot is actually a heavy test of coordination, requiring throwing sequins repeatedly several times to capture a relatively perfect scrap trajectory. When shooting this set, I discarded the originally tight posture of holding the weapon, completely immersing myself in that atmosphere of celebration and victory, which made the smile and body extension turn out highly natural.

As a styling combining modern techwear with idol style, it forms a great contrast between the stiff fabric and the lightweight tulle. The red waist corset and belt buckles around the waist not only serve to cinch the waist but also add a touch of capable handsomeness to the originally simple white coat and blue skirt. The trim of the wig this time also fits the face shape relatively well, with the curled bangs edges on both sides of the cheeks framing the face contours beautifully, and the combination of the red bow on top of the head with the pink-orange hair strands is highly recognizable.

During post-processing, I particularly valued the transition of light and shadow as well as the preservation of the character's skin texture; after all, when shooting such a playful and vibrant character, the overall frame needs to have sufficient translucency. The high contrast of red, white, and blue means the lighting needs to be absolutely uniform, otherwise it's easy to lose details or make the clothing colors look dirty and messy. Fortunately, the photographer who collaborated on this shoot understood the visual experience I wanted to express very well.

Whether in the coolness brought when waving the weapon, or the agility when sitting down to make a playful gesture, the presentation of different lenses is doing its utmost to capture the traits of this character. For myself, being able to turn this styling from a concept into a physical item, and then from in front of the set into a frozen frame, is a great experience.
