[Raiden Ei cosplay] My Signature Hero in Honor of Kings, the Official Photos of This Shadow Look Are Finally Out!

This styling of Raiden Ei in Honor of Kings centers around a bold collision of black, white, and red. The silver metallic-textured spaulders pair with shiny black leather, interspersed with translucent mesh panels, presenting a sleek, heroic silhouette amidst the rugged armor. To perfectly deliver this contrast, the wig was chosen in a dual-toned red and white style. Styling it took much more time than expected—especially keeping the sides smooth and frizz-free, which required meticulous care while wearing it for half a day at the convention. Paired with light yellow contact lenses, the eyes instantly gleamed with life. I kept the makeup as clean and sharp as possible, precisely capturing the character's signature cool and aloof vibe.

The most eye-catching yet painful part of the entire costume was definitely this pair of patent leather high-heeled boots with red heels. The sharp, red cone-shaped heels look visually aggressive, naturally commanding a strong aura with every step. Correspondingly, after running around the convention all day, my soles were completely numb. But for the sake of the photos, I gritted my teeth to hold the poses, coordinating with leg-stretching movements to bring out the long lines. For the prop, I chose this red blade-like weapon. Not only is it a solid crimson, but its matte texture also perfectly echoes the shiny red trim on the clothing and the red in the wig, creating a natural connection with my movements whether pointed forward or draped down.

Actually, I've filmed some videos before, but the feeling of frozen moments in light and shadow is indeed very different. So, I specially put together this set of photos as an official photoshoot record. Shooting at a convention venue really tests your on-site adaptability. With people constantly passing by, and occasionally catching glimpses of bystanders in the background, the photographer intentionally used a wide-angle lens with plenty of low-angle upward shots. This composition is perfect for this outfit—it not only effectively stretches the proportions of the lower body but also utilizes the highly reflective floor tiles to mirror the ceiling lights, adding a cool-toned depth of space to the entire frame. During dynamic captures, I intentionally made larger movements. Paired with this tilted composition, it made my entire posture look highly aggressive and dynamic.

I used to think it would be hard for me to pull off a combat-themed look like this, but since my signature hero is Raiden Ei, I decided to go all out with this sharp and fierce style. Looking back after the shoot, I feel the completion level of this entire outfit—from the styling of the wig, to the hollowed-out design on the front of the costume, to the pairing of the long boots—turned out exceptionally well. Being able to recreate a beloved character in reality is a deeply fulfilling experience in itself. Beyond just looking good, my cosplay photography focus is on whether the character's unique traits are successfully conveyed. Documenting these feelings through this official photoshoot makes it truly meaningful to me.
