[Tamamo no Mae cosplay] The Shrine Maiden Fox Caster from Fate/Grand Order Descends

I got my hands on these Caster Tamamo no Mae convention photos today, and the overall effect matches my expectations from the shoot. The temperature was actually quite high on the day of the convention, and there were many people in the hall, but for the sake of visual accuracy, I put on the full set of gear. Let's focus on the details of the makeup, styling, and photography this time. The main black dress features complex gold straps and metal buckles; just putting on these accessories and adjusting the waistline and slimming effect took nearly half an hour. The sleeves have blue-gray ruffled splicing that tends to flutter when walking, so I had to adjust the inner supports to show the silhouette. The animal ears and tail are the center of weight, secured to the long hair and belt with snap fasteners. My waist was sore after a whole day, but they didn't fall off. The mini top hat on the head is the finishing touch, but its positioning requires extreme precision; even a slight deviation looks bad. Before shooting, I confirmed the lighting style with photographer Mingyuan. We mainly wanted to capture Caster's demeanor, which blends majesty with a foxy playfulness. Because the long hair and animal ears are fluffy, we had to pay special attention to angles to avoid blocking the light on my face. Sculpting the lines of the legs was also a focus. Black stockings paired with platform high heels are very demanding on leg shape. We repeatedly fine-tuned the leg angles during sitting and squatting poses, using perspective to elongate the proportions. Mingyuan used the cool blue background of the venue coupled with warm spotlights in front of the character. This contrast brought out the textures of the metal buckles on the clothes, the patent leather shoes, and the black stockings. The exhibition hall floor was very hard, and changing poses between the softboxes took a lot of energy, but the shooting atmosphere was very relaxed, like a deep exchange of character understanding, and the candid expressions captured were quite natural. As an avid convention-goer, I feel that the atmospheric vibe of on-site convention photos is sometimes more important than absolutely perfect post-processing. This set of photos serves as a record of the overall quality of this Caster look; the complexity of the outfit and the posture requirements were handled and presented very well in this shoot. While wearing it, I had to constantly adjust the lace and straps so that large movements wouldn't cause wrinkles and ruin the look. My skin easily turned red after kneeling on the hard floor for a long time, so I had to massage and relax a bit after shooting one scene, otherwise it would affect my condition for the next pose. Before the shoot, to match this long pink hair and animal ears, I specifically adjusted the shape of my eyeliner to increase the depth of my eyes. Maintaining the gear this time also took effort. The clothes easily snagged, so I was constantly careful to avoid the nearby light stands during breaks. The photographer's equipment was also heavy. We took a break in between so he could adjust the lighting angles, searching for many angles to pursue the reflective effect of the metal parts. In addition, the post-production color grading strategy for this set leaned towards a delicate, cool gray-blue texture, which I personally believe perfectly highlights the color contrast between the fluffy animal ears and the black and gold. All in all, it was a challenge to my ability to handle bulky props. I hope this set of convention photos, full of on-site atmosphere, can preserve the Tamamo no Mae aura of that moment.
