[Tsukihime cosplay] Fate/Grand Order Cosplay Event Photos: Capturing the Majestic Moments of the Princess

I've sorted out the convention photos from March 15; this time I shot Tsukihime from Fate/Grand Order. As mentioned earlier, this portrays the authoritative Princess, so in the design of expressions and poses, I deliberately conveyed an ethereal, otherworldly presence coupled with majestic dignity.

In terms of the outfit, the white and blue dress was the core of this shoot. The blue color-blocking at the bust and waist paired with gold trim neatly accentuates the figure. The high-low hemline is also a definite highlight, carrying a distinct drape and subtle sheen. To complement this costume, I specifically chose black stockings and high heels, which not only visually elongate the leg lines but also balance out the large areas of white and blue on the upper body. The sleeves were made very wide with internal support to faithfully recreate the oversized bell-sleeve effect from the original design.

For makeup and styling, the short blonde wig was accessorized with white floral hairpieces and carefully styled with an ahoge, making the overall look dimensional. We shot from a low-angle perspective, which wonderfully emphasized the imposing presence of the wide skirt while making the silhouette appear particularly tall and slender. Because the dress was long, I had to hold up the hem while walking, but to ensure the best posture on camera, I had to keep my back completely straight when standing still. Standing in high heels for so long was inevitably tiring, but the final photos turned out fantastic.

The shooting venue was the crowded and bustling March 15 comic convention. Using the available venue lighting and background, the photographer darkened surrounding elements and used a wide aperture to blur the background, maximizing focus on the main subject. The gloves and stockings were both black, a color combination that anchors such a massive skirt. Many fellow fans gathered around to watch on-site; I was a bit shy at first, but after adjusting my mindset, I immersed myself fully into character. To find the right angles and lighting, we walked back and forth multiple times—especially with that wide, floor-sweeping skirt, which I had to carefully hold up the entire time until my arms felt sore. Although the lighting was complex, the photographer handled it very professionally, creating a remarkably atmospheric final result.

These convention photos focus on raw, on-site realism and natural candid moments. For post-processing, natural textures were largely preserved while colors were calibrated and slight vignetting was added to highlight the subject, aiming to present that princess aura shining from the shadows. My heels definitely ached after taking off the shoes, but getting great photos is the greatest motivation. Overall, this was a wonderful shooting experience, and I gained valuable insights to do even better next time I cosplay this character. During the shoot, because the skirt was so long, it easily picked up dust, so it will need careful cleaning and maintenance at home.
