This time, I'm presenting the formal dress version of Tashkent from Azur Lane. What captivated me most about this ensemble is the sophisticated high-end aesthetic and cold glamour forged by the monochrome contrast. To faithfully capture the essence of this gown, considerable care was invested into fabric sourcing and styling. First, regarding the dress itself: the black leather main fabric boasts an exquisite texture that cleanly accentuates body curves, while the extensive rhinestone and silver sequin patchwork across the bodice injects sheer opulence, preventing the dominant black from ever feeling dull. The white plush fur stole draped over the shoulders serves as the crowning touch—not only nodding to her feline traits, but also carving a stark, dramatic black-and-white contrast.
For the wig, I selected long wavy locks in soft lilac. Tashkent's hairstyle is quite distinctive; I meticulously trimmed the blunt bangs to ensure the wig's edges framed the facial contour naturally. To match her character design, I wore vivid blue contact lenses and spent extensive time on eye makeup. Detailing the lower lashes and deepening the outer corners crafted that cool, subtly languid feline gaze. The lips were kept in a natural soft pink to avoid competing with the eye makeup, aiming for an overall clean, translucent finish. The monochrome choker around the neck alongside the golden pendant set with a clear gemstone were essential nuances honoring canonical lore. The addition of Black stockings brought a mature, sensual tension to the luxurious styling.
Set staging on the shoot day was thoughtfully curated. We utilized a deep red leather armchair, backed by dark drapery and vintage metallic candelabras and antique clock props. The clash of crimson and black translates brilliantly on camera. To heighten narrative depth, we incorporated wine glasses and a white teacup. The amber glow of the liquid catching the light echoed harmoniously with the white plush fur in the foreground. We maintained a relatively shallow depth of field, using foreground blurs of white fur and the wine glass to build spatial layering while guiding visual focus squarely onto facial features and bodice embellishments.
Choreographing poses was another major focus during the shoot. Being a formal evening gown setting, overt liveliness had to be avoided in favor of a tipsy, languid, yet perpetually poised demeanor. In the first frame, raising one hand slightly while gazing directly into the lens emphasized the plunging V-neck rhinestone embellishments and leg contours. The second frame featured leaning against the backrest with wine glass in hand, eyes subtly drifting off-camera to evoke effortless relaxation. Both sequences aimed to showcase the drape of the gown and fluid feminine curves without feeling staged. As a cosplayer obsessed with fine details, every shoot is an endeavor to unify fabric textures and character demeanor as seamlessly as possible. I'm genuinely pleased with this exploration—the flare of the skirt, the shimmer of the crystals, and the luminous sheen of each hair strand fulfilled my vision completely.
