The Convention photos from Dongguan Firefly SP02 are finally sorted out! The shoot went so smoothly, marking my first collaboration with master @YueXiaShenXi—the shutter was firing nonstop with incredible efficiency. Cosplaying this Hallowed Seamstress look was such a fresh, exciting experience for me. The wig features bright Blue hair twin tails styled into ringlet drill curls; maintaining that spiral definition took quite some prep time before heading out, and the navy bow hairpieces on both sides of the crown had to be pinned down rock-solid since my poses on-site involved big, dynamic motions.
For makeup, I experimented with heterochromia lenses—blue in the right eye and pinkish-purple in the left—paired with bolder eye makeup and a crimson lip, creating a wonderfully textured finish. I painted light cyan star motifs along my neck and arms, and these subtle details popped brilliantly under the strobes. The outfit itself merges Lolita flair with battle gear: an off-the-shoulder bodice spliced with dark and pale blue, trimmed with black lace around the neckline. The oversized navy waist bow with gold metallic edging and the diamond-shaped buckle have an undeniable presence. The overskirt at the back is shimmery white adorned with gold diamond patterns, layered over navy ruffles that create rich volume whenever I moved.
Down below, I paired the look with asymmetrical tights—one leg in blue-and-white vertical stripes, the other in blue-and-white harlequin argyle—finished with white platform high heels, making the visual rhythm and Stockings and beautiful legs look amazingly energetic. To complement the ensemble, I brought along an oversized blue weapon prop. Its massive circular ring and diamond-pointed spikes were seriously heavy, demanding tremendous physical stamina to wield, yet the resulting camera presence was absolutely worth every drop of sweat. The convention hall lighting was quite tricky with a dark backdrop, but the supplementary lighting brought out the fabric textures and weapon weathering with crisp fidelity.
During the session, we explored numerous kinetic stances—lifting one leg slightly while smoothing the skirt, glancing back over the shoulder, and resting a finger against the lips in a quiet hush gesture. Because the prop carried significant weight, pulling off light, effortless poses required solid core engagement for balance. Despite the bustling noise of the convention floor at Dongguan Firefly, the photographer had a keen eye for candid timing, freezing the billowing skirt hem and flowing curls with immaculate precision.
The finished grade leans into a crisp, cool palette that harmonizes seamlessly with the outfit's colorway. This was also my first time rotating through stances and angles so rapidly on the convention floor; shooting the entire afternoon was undeniably exhausting, but seeing the garment textures, prop paintwork, and intricate makeup nuances captured so cleanly makes it all feel profoundly rewarding.
