[Tamamo no Mae cosplay] Photoshoot Experience Sharing of the Fate/Grand Order Maid Outfit

For this shoot, I portrayed Tamamo no Mae's maid outfit look from Fate/Grand Order. The overall ensemble features a black-and-white dress complete with animal ears, a massive fluffy fox tail, and black thigh-high stockings.

Starting with costume details, this maid outfit is very well-crafted. The upper body combines a white ruffled neckline with a black corset cinched with silver metallic buckles, requiring some tightness adjustments to flatter the figure and accentuate the waistline. The neck features a black choker collar, while the sleeves extend into black over-the-elbow gloves trimmed with white wrist ruffles—creating sharp, layered black-and-white contrast. The skirt carries substantial weight with distinct, structured pleats.

The accessories required the most effort. The long, curly pink wig needed careful brushing, and because the bangs are quite long, hairspray was essential to keep them from obstructing my view. The white ruffled headpiece attaches to a pair of large, fluffy orange animal ears, which must be worn carefully to avoid crushing the hair. The trickiest part was the massive tail—being plush and heavy, it had to be strapped tightly with a waist belt to prevent it from sagging or dropping when turning and walking. Despite the tedious setup, checking the reflection in the mirror made it all worthwhile.

As for posing, since it was a mirror selfie, finding the right angles was critical. The first seated pose with crossed legs created a relaxed, languid vibe. The second pose standing on one leg making a V-sign felt more lively. The third standing pose shifted weight onto one leg with the other slightly bent, gently pulling at the skirt hem with one hand to reveal the top edge of the black thigh-high stockings and bow embellishments—wonderfully elongating the leg lines. Keeping the instep pointed and feet lightly engaged helped make the legs look even straighter.

Centering the subject within the frame worked best for composition. With the plain white walls and simple curtains of the living room, the overall shot looked clean and fresh. Just be careful when turning so the large tail doesn't knock over the nearby floor fan or mirror.

All in all, complemented by the large tail and stockings, this maid outfit faithfully captures the duality of a devoted wife and master's maid. As a passionate cosplayer, putting together the styling details and dialing in the poses and angles produced expressive, satisfying photos, making this a rewarding mirror selfie experience.
