[Sakuya Izayoi cosplay] Touhou Project's perfect and elegant Chief Maid, master of time and throwing knives

For this Sakuya Izayoi Maid outfit from Touhou Project, every detail—from material selection and pattern drafting to accessories—pursued the essence of being 'perfect and elegant.' The deep blue jacquard dress paired with a white lace-trimmed apron, accented by black leather straps across the chest and waist, infuses a sharp, capable demeanor into an otherwise obedient look. The white short-sleeved inner shirt features delicate lace cuffs, while the tiered deep blue skirt fabric echoes the pleated white lining beneath, producing rich dimensional depth with every step. The silver-white wig is braided on both sides, topped with a lace-trimmed mini maid mob cap and accented with a green cross hairpin on the left; styling and maintaining the wig was a pre-production focal point, requiring volume without appearing untidy. The makeup leans toward cool tones, emphasizing depth around the eyes to convey an aloof, untouchable aura true to character lore.

The shooting took place in a vintage wooden library, where towering bookshelves and neatly arranged colorful tomes offered wonderful spatial depth. The rich red patterned carpet on the floor added vibrant color to the composition. To reflect the character's abilities, I prepared a Pocket watch and a pair of short daggers as props. Holding the Pocket watch or raising it before my eyes, paired with deliberately designed gazes, conveyed the composed assurance of manipulating time. Hand grips on the blades were refined repeatedly; whether crossed defensively in front of the chest or raised high in a throwing stance, steady wrist control was essential. Along the staircase, wooden handrails, vintage picture frames, and warm wall sconces created a distinctive ambiance—gathering the skirt hem as I walked down or looking back over my shoulder at the landing, the warm yellow light washing over silver hair brought out exceptional photographic texture. Shots holding a broom captured the Chief Maid's everyday housekeeping duties. The greatest challenge during shooting lay in physical control and expression management: poses like dropping to one knee with blades raised or lunging forward with one hand extended demanded solid core strength and flexibility while keeping the upper body upright and poised. Sitting in the chair required constant attention to how the skirt draped, ensuring the lace trims and ruffles showed off their full elegance. The entire shoot was a process of harmonizing with the camera to discover the exact angles that magnified Sakuya's presence. Every shutter click was not only character embodiment, but also an exploration of my own expressive potential. Conceptualizing and executing this set was a rewarding recomposition of classic elements, and the final visual outcome is immensely satisfying.
