Trying to capture spatial sense in a small studio is genuinely a challenge, something I deeply realized while shooting Wuthering Waves' Zani this time. In a cramped venue, wide shots are hard to pull off, so I relied more on large apertures to blur the background and used foreground obstruction to create depth within the frame. For instance, using suitcases in front or wine glasses on the table as foreground elements, keeping the focus locked on the subject, prevents the frame from looking too flat. Another factor is camera angle selection; slight low-angle or high-angle shots can alter spatial perspective, making an otherwise cramped environment look more layered.

As for that overtime-weary vibe, the moment I put on this costume and finished my makeup, the feeling was already there. A white shirt, black tie, suspenders, coupled with waist metal pendants and a belt, altogether construct an extremely capable, even corporate-executive-like career woman persona. To match this atmosphere, I reined in my facial expressions during management—the gaze shouldn't be too energetic, instead carrying a touch of aloofness, detachment, or even that fatigue after working for hours on end. Just like you see in the photos, sitting in the large sofa with a book in hand or crossing my legs, that aura emerges naturally.

The key focus of this makeup and styling, aside from the silver-white hair with red highlights, was that pair of black horns. The horns' material and texture boast fantastic texture under the lighting. To echo the red circle lenses, the tie was also chosen in a vibrant red, forming a visual center within the black-and-white primary color scheme, instantly catching viewers' eyes in the photos. The lower body features form-fitting black trousers paired with Black stockings and high heels; sitting on the vintage leather sofa with crossed legs creates exceptional line definition, which is precisely why I chose a sitting posture to showcase this character.

The shooting process was actually quite tiring; although that sofa looks imposing, maintaining an attractive posture with a straight back and waist required a constant, subtle exertion of core strength. For the shot holding a book, my arm grew sore just trying to keep the posture frozen. However, upon seeing the finished photos displaying that cold, glamorous, and slightly approachable-to-none feeling, I felt all the hard work was completely worth it. This costume features an abundance of details; the belt's distressed look and the metal buckles' reflection exhibit a unique vintage texture under slightly dim lighting. Within a limited space, outlining the character's silhouette through the contrast of light and shadow was also a major focal point of this attempt. I hope these frames convey Zani's unique calmness and oppressive aura. In fact, this sort of dark and workplace-styled look is quite rare in everyday shoots, so throughout the entire process, I thoroughly enjoyed exploring her slightly aggressive beauty. Whether it's the sharpness of the gaze or the restraint of body language, I strived to closely align with the character's temperament setting. Even though the studio was small, utilizing limited props and lighting still allowed me to capture that desired exclusive atmosphere.
