This shoot featuring Iuno's Daoxiang Village look from Wuthering Waves underwent meticulous prop and Blue-toned makeup and styling adjustments in the early stages, from obtaining the hairstyle reference images to final production. The wig selected used a gradient material alternating between blue and white; the two full double-bun hair structures on top were quite complex, decorated with white flowers and golden tassels that had to be firmly secured in advance to avoid shifting while moving around the photo studio. For eye makeup, the orange-red blending at the outer corners of the eyes was emphasized, combining with light-colored contact lenses to create a warm yet translucent visual effect before the camera lens. The garment's tailoring flatters the silhouette nicely, with the white off-the-shoulder inner piece forming a sharp color contrast against the dark blue coat. The golden metal accessories at the high collar and extensive jacquard embroidery patterns on the skirt hem were particularly striking under overhead lighting.
The shooting venue was an indoor studio with high ceilings, where exposed steel trusses and large reflector umbrellas were visible in the background. These industrial elements actually worked very well for presenting characters with cool blue-and-white tones, making the subject pop even more. To capture a sense of agility, we prepared various dynamic poses for this shoot. Actions like jumping into a single-leg stance or holding a folding fan while turning halfway around posed quite a test in managing the weight of the garment. When swinging the wide blue-and-white sleeves, the hair tassels and clothing tassels created synchronized motion—as long as the shutter was timed perfectly, the resulting photos carried a light, breathing quality.
In terms of props, although the blue-and-white folding fan was a supporting element, using the fan as a visual anchor during a single-leg slightly lifted posture made the pose feel significantly more vivid. The White tights styling paired with black thick-soled chunky heel leather shoes modified leg lines while balancing the ethereal feel of a shorter skirt, adding grounded stability to the overall look. Before shooting, I was worried that blue-and-white costumes might look too flat indoors, but the photographer cleverly utilized softboxes arranged on set to maintain a wonderful warm-and-cool balance between skin tone and ambient light. Throughout this entire Iuno cosplay photoshoot, it felt as though we not only restored the character's outer appearance, but also accurately captured the character's distinct aura and temperament.
