The core concept behind shooting this Aemeath set was to recreate the character's original lively charm as closely as possible. Long pink hair served as the centerpiece of the styling; to capture the visual of hair strands blowing gently in the wind, natural breezes were incorporated during the shoot, followed by fine post-processing adjustments in Doubao on specific hair strands to give the wig a fluffy, airy texture. The costume structure is fairly intricate—the pairing of a black top and a white ruffled skirt creates a clear light-and-dark contrast under sunlight, complemented by the micro black-and-white checkered pleated skirt beneath, forming a striking color contrast. To match the character's persona, I specifically chose white slouch socks paired with chunky black leather shoes, utilizing sitting and standing poses that accentuate Long legs to highlight the leg contours. For the backdrop, an indoor space with modern industrial flair was chosen, featuring high metallic ceilings, exposed red brick steps, and generous natural light filtering through large glass windows to produce a wonderful sense of clarity.
In choreography and posing, close attention was paid to head orientation and hand gestures. For example, raising an arm expanded the spatial tension in the frame, while sitting on the steps with one leg extended and the other bent gracefully framed the calf lines. Throughout the process, special care was given to the flow of the skirt and hair—if a single strand covered the face or the skirt didn't drape naturally with the movement, we readjusted and retook the shot. Aside from the open-arm stance in the first shot, the other poses focused on showcasing leg contours and adapting the skirt's shape to the breezy conditions. Post-processing focused on skin texture and background lighting to harmonize the subject with the setting. The daylight was quite strong that day, so to prevent facial overexposure, we found a well-shaded lighting angle beside the steps.
For hair accessories, small pink hairpins were paired with blue hair ribbons. With natural light filtering through the glass windows onto the set, the texture of red brick steps and distant greenery formed an interwoven environment of warm and cool tones. I adjusted the wig angle and chose textured chunky soles between the White stockings and black shoes. Due to the wind, timing the freeze-frame was crucial to preserve the dynamic peak of the hair and skirt flare. For costume maintenance, the top was prone to creasing—especially the black parts under lighting—so we smoothed it repeatedly between takes. Alternating between sitting and standing postures allowed the leg lines to be displayed more completely. Later, ambient lighting was carefully refined to further accentuate the visual contrast between black, white, and pink. The finalized selection achieved harmony across composition, expression, and visual cleanliness. This shoot deepened my understanding of the character, tuning expression and movement to her persona to make the photos more expressive. Managing the overall atmosphere tested framing and on-site coordination, especially with multi-layered outfits—successfully utilizing natural light to highlight character details while maintaining clean garment lines.
