I finally found some time to write down my actual experience with this Denia cosplay try-on haul from XingKongMiao over the past few days. My most immediate impression after trying it on was glitter falling all over the place, looking just like a miniature sparkling snowstorm in my room. Although it was quite a chore to clean up, looking at the lighting effects captured in the photos, I feel the photographic performance of this outfit is indeed excellent.
For my personal stats, I am 150cm tall and weigh 42kg, and I bought a size S. When we petite cosplayers choose a cosplay outfit, our biggest fear is that the waistline and shoulder line won't match up, making the proportions look unbalanced. However, the fixed shoulder strap design of this outfit is quite reasonable, and the length is just right for me. After adjusting it, the bust position also sits perfectly at the right height, avoiding any heavy feeling of the clothes dragging the person down.
To keep the large cape in the back from dragging on the ground, I specially paired it with a 35cm heavy-duty tulle petticoat. The effect of a petticoat this length is very obvious; it makes the outer white skirt fluffy and stiff, and the cape in the back just hovers in the air, making it easy to walk around. The puffed-up skirt not only makes the curved lines and geometric prints on the clothes more prominent, but also instantly establishes the overall cute silhouette.
The texture of the fabric for this costume is very well chosen, with a fine micro-shimmer treatment on the surface. Combined with the white main color tone, pink translucent mesh sleeves, and white plush trim on the arms, the overall look is very light and layered. The golden chains, the sapphire on the neckline, and the light blue diamond-shaped pendant on the chest are almost all 3D-printed parts. To be honest, using 3D-printed parts is already very common in the cosplay industry now; though they are heavier than metal, they have a huge advantage in shaping and detail restoration, and they don't look too plastic on camera.
However, only saying good things would be a bit fake. After actually wearing it, it does have some minor flaws. First, it doesn't really cinch the waist, and combined with the expanding visual effect of the outer skirt, it makes one look like an exquisite porcelain dollācute, but lacking a bit of curves. Second, the red ring is a bit too large; my fingers are relatively thin, so it easily slips off basically whenever I move, requiring extra care when taking photos. Third, the little black bear plush on the side of the waist is honestly a bit "ugly-cute"; the modeling isn't exactly refined, but it's an accessory that shouldn't be missing. Fourth, the blue choker on the neck is on the stiffer side; after wearing it for a while, the edges rub against the skin on the neck, feeling a bit scratchy. If the manufacturer could add a layer of soft padding here, the comfort would be greatly improved.
Despite these complaints, the overall cost-performance ratio is there, making me feel satisfied. I mimicked the poses in the pictures, raising my arms; with the red gloves paired with the pink flowing sleeves and the white plush decorations, striking this lively and energetic pose instantly brings out that especially cute, energetic vibe. I particularly like the neatly arranged metal chains and gems on her chest; although heavy, they distribute the weight away from the shoulder straps.
Regarding the glitter issue, it really adheres easily. It drifted all over the floor with just a little movement during the try-on, and after taking off the costume post-shooting, a lot of it was also stuck to the white outer skirt, requiring careful cleaning with a lint roller. This also shows that the manufacturer did put effort into the fabric treatment, pursuing that shimmering, radiant look. For a cosplayer like me who enjoys dynamic shooting or filming videos, the floating glitter might even become a plus for the frame, though I have to take good care of the costume after returning home from the shoot.
Overall, this Denia cosplay outfit counts as a great try-on haul experience. The fit and pattern are very friendly to petite people like me, and the texture of the fabric and 3D-printed parts exceeds expectations for its price point. As long as you can accept the loose ring and the scratchy choker, and pay a little more attention during photoshoots, it can absolutely help you capture a fantastic set of photos. This is also the most cost-effective cute-style outfit I've tried on recently; it doesn't have that heavy feeling of being too gorgeous to move, making it very suitable for casual outdoor shoots.
