The convention floor photos for Hsin (Hsin cosplay) from Wuthering Waves (Wuthering Waves) are finally here! The details on this costume are truly endless; just figuring out the metallic chest ornaments and the waist harness structure took ages before everything was worn seamlessly. Fastening the wig and beast ears was an art in itself—to ensure they wouldn't dislodge while walking around the bustling hall, I used numerous bobby pins and hidden mesh nets. Lighting across the convention was quite intricate, so we found a spot with a dark backdrop in the photography zone, using continuous key lights to carve out rim illumination. This beautifully highlighted the fluffy texture of the plush tail and the fabrics. The red, black, white, and gold palette was eye-catching on site, especially that colossal tail, which demanded constant balance while moving.

During the shoot, I explored several varied angles. When standing, keeping the spine straight and tossing the long cape outward brought out Hsin's cool, slightly commanding presence. Seated poses were more relaxed; crossing the legs visually elongated proportions, which, paired with the clear high heels, made the entire silhouette appear taller and sleeker. The high-slit design made moving around easy, but to avoid wardrobe malfunctions, safety undergarments were properly prepped underneath. The synergy with the photographer was effortless, capturing plenty of great moments.

The convention environment is always a test of stamina—crowded and humid—but seeing how the outfit translated on camera made all the prep feel worthwhile. I deliberately deepened the red eye makeup, which, paired with scarlet contact lenses, gave the gaze a sharper edge under the flash. The wig was also trimmed to frame the jawline, keeping the face looking dainty. The faux fur collar boasted substantial quality without feeling cheap; though the full regalia was cumbersome, the on-camera results were stunning. This convention trip was fulfilling and taught me a lot about handling heavy cosplay builds, such as balancing visual fidelity with wearable comfort.

Regarding Hsin's wardrobe, there are so many subtle nuances to share. For instance, the black damask jacquard panel over the chest: to give it structured depth, I engineered precise lacing across the back, ensuring the front remained completely smooth and flush. The wide bell sleeves on the arms look gorgeous, but drinking water or eating was practically impossible, so I lived on energy bars throughout the day. The skirt layers carry wonderful movement, with light red-and-white gossamer fabrics floating gracefully mid-stride. That iconic crimson cape was actually anchored to the waist with hidden snap fasteners, preventing it from slipping even during broad motions.

Among the convention shots, my favorite was the pose seated on the step ladder. Angling the torso slightly to fully showcase leg lines, lightly resting the chin on my hand, and adopting a slightly languid gaze gave the shot immense dramatic tension. The clear sandals were another highlight, visually extending the lower leg lines. Against a solid black background with ambient bokeh, the monochrome and scarlet tones popped with rich atmosphere. Portraying characters burdened with massive tails and beast ears demands high endurance and posture control; the tail's weight strains the lower back, leaving you sore by day's end, but seeing the lush, fluffy textures on camera brought pure satisfaction.

For eyelashes, I selected an elongated, wispy style; paired with the blended red eyeshadow, the makeup stayed clean even in close-up portraits. The wig was naturally voluminous, so trimming the bangs helped it frame my face neatly. The lighting setup was also calibrated with care—a softbox in front and rim lights on the side illuminated hair strands and tail edges with sharp, defined dimensionality. All in all, I'm genuinely pleased with the character fidelity and the on-site results.
