[Phoebe Cosplay] Wuthering Waves: Dream Phantom Traditional Chinese Style Visual Blockbuster

Bringing Phoebe's Dream Phantom theme from Wuthering Waves to life this time involved extensive pre-production research across wardrobe pairing and scene curation. Although rooted in an anime character, the look weaves dense classical oriental motifs; hence, we built the set against a pure black void anchored by an illuminated artificial moon and heavy dry-ice mist to push the cinematic atmosphere to its peak.

Looking closely at the wardrobe details: the inner layer is a white mandarin-collar blouse flaunting dramatic flared trumpet sleeves, worn beneath a deep-blue jacquard waistcoat. The vest features intricate frog fasteners, fine embroidery, cascading blue silk tassels, and gilded chain link accents that chime faintly with every stride. The lower half pairs a white pleated miniskirt with over-the-knee lace-trimmed white stockings and chunky black platform shoes. For the hair and headpiece, I selected long golden tumbling curls topped with a coordinated navy-blue beret flanked by fluffy white pom-poms. To recreate the character's ethereal essence, the makeup incorporated violet-blue contact lenses with amplified blush blending, ensuring my facial planes remained dimensional and luminous under intense studio strobes.

The shooting session demanded far more physical stamina than anticipated. To capture an effortless airborne weightlessness, photographer Buqiu choreographed several poses demanding strong core engagement. For example, leaping off one foot while swinging the woven bamboo basket required controlling the skirt's swirling arc while preserving composed facial micro-expressions. Sitting on the antique wooden chair while leafing through a book looked leisurely on the surface, yet flattering the leg lines meant extending one leg fully and hovering it slightly off the ground—holding that isometric hold tested my thigh muscles severely. The pairing of lace-trimmed white stockings and black platform heels elongated the lower-body proportions beautifully, but navigating the slick studio floor blanketed in damp dry-ice fog demanded immense balance to avoid tripping on the hem.

Scenic elements—such as white plum blossom branches, artificial rockeries, a timber arched bridge, and an antique tea table—richly layered the frame. The bamboo basket carried white chrysanthemums and pink floral props, which harmonized with the blue thread-bound book in hand to deepen narrative storytelling. Due to intricate studio lighting and the diffuse scattering of the dense fog, I continually oriented my posture toward specific key lights to ensure facial contours and the metallic sheen on the fabrics registered crisply on camera.

When the finished deliverables arrived, that serene, celestial aura tinged with playful charm met all expectations. The collision of a traditional Chinese vest and 2D styling generated a captivating visual resonance before the lens.
