[Elysia Cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd: Herrscher of Human Photoshoot

Shooting this photoshoot for Elysia Cosplay as the Herrscher of Human from Honkai Impact 3rd was truly a special experience. During pre-production, the core goal was recreating her unique aura bridging divinity and humanity, with the costume and post-production effects serving as keys to conveying that presence. The costume design is quite intricate—a white top paired with a purple skirt hem, along with metallic thigh rings and black Stockings, which placed high demands on silhouette and posture. To achieve the best effect in front of the lens, I tuned my mental and physical state, posing in sync with the photographer's cues.

The focus of the makeup and hair was her Long pink hair and purple eyes. To make the gaze appear spirited and expressive, eye makeup took considerable time—especially curating the curvature of false eyelashes to project gentleness infused with a hint of mystery. The wig is smooth, straight Long pink hair; to create a fluttering, airy aesthetic during shooting, setting spray was applied on-site while carefully controlling wind direction.

Lighting on the shoot day was fascinating. The photographer utilized backlighting and high-contrast light and shadow setups. The background features a large shattered-glass visual effect; in practical shooting, we utilized transparent props for reflections before compositing in post-production. The photographer guided me to shift my center of gravity to create a floating sensation—such as lightly tiptoeing and engaging my core—allowing the long skirt and hair to spread naturally and gracefully across the frame.

Highlighting the lines of the legs and bust comes naturally from the character's costume design itself. In composition, we intentionally placed the character at the visual center rather than the periphery, using the explosive burst of crystal shards to elevate the protagonist. To accentuate leg contours, the photographer applied subtle side-backlighting along the edges. Shooting from a low-angle upward perspective felt remarkably commanding, which, combined with black Stockings and thigh garter rings, gave the character both savior-like majesty and alluring charm.

Regarding post-production, I am immensely grateful to the editing team. They rendered the glowing shards naturally and meticulously handled specular highlights and reflections. Pink halos dispersed around the frame, mimicking light refracting through crystal.

Preparing for this shoot was quite demanding. I want to specifically thank the photographer for their professional guidance, helping extensively with angles and emotional delivery. Although holding an upward gaze in this outfit was exhausting, seeing the camera monitor previews made every bit of effort worthwhile.

For costume details, I added accents to the waist metal accessories and arm bells; under direct lighting, these metallic gleams enriched spatial depth. The stylist helped refine the bangs and sidelocks to present the most flawless angle on camera.

The pose choreography was unique, looking like hovering mid-air during an energy burst. I was actually required to balance on one foot and freeze mid-motion; keeping balance required whole-body tension, and sweat had completely soaked my undergarments. Yet the final outcome possessed immense visual tension, with Long pink hair blending harmoniously into the surrounding crystal shards.

The final result exceeded my expectations, with lighting shifts bestowing a unique reflective luster to the black Stockings. Lastly, I'd like to share my thoughts on Elysia: she is the Origin and the Herrscher of Human, embodying humanity's beauty and hope. Portraying her was not merely wearing a costume, but feeling her profound love for the world. I hope this photoshoot with shattered crystal effects conveys the tender strength that blooms even in desperation.
