Pink wig paired with pointy elf ears, this set of Elysia Cosplay's elf maid outfit official photos was shot at an amusement park. The sunlight on that day was very good. To match the dreamy and childlike atmosphere in the amusement park, we specially prepared bubble water and a bunch of small daisies as shooting props. The overall color tone of the photos presents a soft pink-purple system, perfectly blending with the pink railings in the amusement park and the Amusement park Ferris wheel in the background, creating a fairy-tale-like visual effect.
Let's first talk about the matching details of this outfit. The white puff-sleeve top features black lace cuffs, and the waist is designed with a black cincher, slightly revealing a bit of the waistline, which increases the overall layering and breathing sense. The lower body is a multi-layered puffy skirt intertwined with dark and white colors, tied outside with an apron decorated with light purple ribbons and white flowers. The material of the skirt hem is very solid, presenting a nice wavy shape when spinning. The legs are matched with White over-the-knee socks featuring a slight garter design, which not only modifies the leg lines but also makes the overall styling fit the character's temperament better. On the feet is a pair of black platform Mary Jane shoes; although the shoes have a little weight, they have good grip when taking photos on the grass and steps, and walking in them has a rhythmic feel.
In terms of headwear, the white ruffled headband is the standard for maid style, and the black choker on the chest is decorated with golden heart-shaped and bow decorations, which will have a reflective effect in the sunlight. To make the styling closer to the character's setting, gloves are also indispensable; the white long gloves have detailed line patterns as well. To match the Pink wig, I wore blue contact lenses and used pink-toned eyeshadow and blush, hoping to present a soft and cute texture.
The shooting process was actually not easy. There were quite a few people in the amusement park, so we tried to find some relatively quiet corners, such as the corner of the pink railings, under large trees, and the ground with colorful painting. The photo of blowing bubbles was captured after many attempts to succeed. The sunlight passed through the transparent bubbles, refracting beautiful light and shadow. It was necessary to master the strength and angle of blowing to make the bubbles present a perfect shape in front of the lens. When walking on the trail holding the daisy bouquet, it was necessary to try to keep the steps steady, letting the skirt swing naturally to show the fluffiness of the skirt hem. For the few shots sitting and resting under the tree roots, the sunlight spilled over the body through the leaves, forming very nice mottled light and shadow, and at that time, the atmosphere of that moment felt very quiet.
Because I really like this character's attire, I made a lot of preparations in details this time. For example, in the placement of accessories and the styling care of the wig, I adjusted them repeatedly. Of course, as stated at the beginning of the post, apologies for any cosplay OOC (Out of Character); everyone's understanding and presentation method of the character are different, and I am also working hard to get close to the image in my heart. Special thanks to the photographer @Sushou & Qingfeng for their hard work in shooting and post-processing, being able to handle the colors and light and shadow in the amusement park so harmoniously, recording these wonderful moments, and bringing this amusement park shooting trip to a successful conclusion.
